Becton Dickinson and CompanyBecton Dickinson and CompanyBD has appointed Ferass Abuzaina as worldwide president of its Surgery business unit, effective immediately. Abuzaina will lead the global strategic, operational and commercial performance of Surgery, based at the unit's headquarters in Warwick, Rhode Island, and reporting to Peter Menziuso, executive vice president and president of the Interventional segment. He previously served as Worldwide VP/GM of Advanced Repair and Reconstruction within Surgery, and joined BD in 2013, holding leadership roles across multiple BD businesses in research and development, strategy and business development. Menziuso said Surgery is well-positioned for its next chapter of growth and that Abuzaina combines a deep understanding of the business with a strong commitment to innovation, execution and serving customers. Abuzaina holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from New York University's Tandon School of Engineering, plus an MBA from the University of Connecticut School of Business.
