Chinese artificial intelligence startup DeepSeek is expected to secure at least 80 billion yuan, or 11.93 billion dollars, in its latest funding round, Bloomberg News reported on the 6th, citing people familiar with the matter. According to the report, Chinese battery giant CATL and Tencent Holdings have committed to the largest investments. DeepSeek had initially aimed to raise about 50 billion yuan, but following the successful launch of its latest AI model, investor demand exceeded expectations, and the final amount raised could approach 100 billion yuan. In September, the company released its latest model, V4.1-Flash, saying it was designed to improve capabilities, speed up inference, and expand processing capacity. Reuters reported last month that DeepSeek had enlisted CICC to prepare for an initial public offering on the STAR Market, the Shanghai Stock Exchange's market for emerging high-tech companies, though the timing of the listing, the company's valuation, and the size of the offering remain undetermined.
