Bank of Ayudhya PCLShares of Asia Aviation Public Company Limited, or AAV, recovered 2.44% to 0.84 baht, up 0.02 baht, trading between a high of 0.86 baht and a low of 0.83 baht on volume of 123.29 million shares worth 104.24 million baht. The move comes as investors focus on today's press briefing by AirAsia Group Berhad, with Tony Fernandes, founder and advisor to the AirAsia group, taking part. Concerns over the AirAsia group's financial position had weighed heavily on AAV's share price in recent weeks. Kasikorn Securities said that at the end of the second quarter of 2026, AAV had net receivables from AirAsia Group Berhad of about 11.4 billion baht, and if these cannot be collected, it may need to set aside provisions for expected credit losses of roughly 600 million to 1.2 billion baht. It also pushed back its forecast for AAV's profit recovery from the fourth quarter of 2026 to 2027, while keeping a hold rating and a mid-2027 target price of 1.08 baht. Krungsri Securities said the Malaysian government is closely monitoring AirAsia's financial status after AirAsia reported a net loss of 831 million ringgit for the second quarter of 2026, with short-term debt of more than 18.4 billion ringgit and at least 500 million ringgit in unpaid airport service fees. AirAsia is meanwhile seeking to raise up to 1 billion US dollars from overseas bond markets and has requested 700 million ringgit in credit lines in Malaysia to shore up liquidity and restructure its debt.
