Announced share buyback of up to 30 billion yen (10.3% of shares) to be cancelled.
Alps Alpine announced on the 31st that it will conduct a share buyback of up to 20 million shares, representing 10.3% of outstanding shares, with a maximum total of 30 billion yen. The repurchase period runs from August 3 to March 31, 2027, and all acquired shares are scheduled to be cancelled on March 31, 2027. The company also reported a net loss of 3.5 billion yen for the first quarter of the fiscal year ending March 2027, widening from a loss of 2.8 billion yen in the same period a year earlier. Operating profit swung to a loss of 900 million yen, hit by lower sales of components for mobile devices and higher costs due to rising semiconductor prices for storage devices amid expanding data center investments. Full-year earnings forecasts were left unchanged.
