Applied Digital, Celestica, and OPKO Health were among Tuesday's biggest stock gainers after each reported quarterly results that beat expectations and raised their forward guidance. Applied Digital shares rose 4% as the AI infrastructure company posted a 407% year-over-year revenue surge to $258.7 million and adjusted earnings of $0.04 per share, driven by the on-time deployment of 175 megawatts of AI capacity at its Polaris Forge campus. Celestica gained 4% after revenue jumped 62% to $4.7 billion and adjusted EPS of $2.54 topped estimates, prompting the electronics manufacturer to lift its full-year 2026 revenue forecast to $20.5 billion and adjusted EPS outlook to $11.30, with management citing strong AI infrastructure demand and expecting 2027 revenue growth to accelerate further. OPKO Health climbed 9% as the company beat second-quarter revenue and earnings estimates, raised its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to a range of $560 million to $585 million, and narrowed its net loss to $0.01 per share, supported by a roughly 60% increase in pharmaceutical revenue that included $33.6 million in royalties and milestone payments. On the losing side, Aehr Test Systems fell 5% after filing a mixed shelf registration that investors viewed as a potential source of future dilution, while Universal Health Services slipped 4% after cutting its full-year 2026 non-GAAP EPS guidance to a range of $22.28 to $23.65 and reporting second-quarter earnings below expectations amid a 9% rise in operating expenses to $4.1 billion.
Teradyne Launches Magnum E2 Memory Tester as Memory Revenue Hits Record $212 Million
Teradyne has launched the Magnum E2, a next-generation high-speed memory test system built on its Near-DUT Test architecture, supporting advanced DRAM and flash interfaces including LPDDR6, DDR6, GDDR7 and NAND flash. The platform offers higher parallelism, improved signal integrity and support for NRZ, PAM3 and PAM4 signaling, and combines memory and logic testing on a single platform. Infineon opens semiconductor plant in Thailand with investment of over 48 billion baht
Infineon Technologies Manufacturing (Thailand) opened a new plant in Samut Prakan province on October 1, 2026, with Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul presiding over the ceremony, joined by Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas. The plant received investment promotion from the BOI with an investment value of over 48 billion baht, covering the production of power control chip systems, integrated circuit and wafer testing, as well as research and development of semiconductor products. The plant is Infineon's third power control chip system production base, following Germany and China, starting with phase 1 and with plans to expand up to 5 phases. If all 5 phases are completed, it will be Infineon's largest assembly and testing production base in the world, with a total cleanroom area of 150,000 square meters, roughly twice the size of the company's current largest plant. Infineon plans to employ more than 5,000 Thai personnel in total, or approximately 1,000 people per phase, while the BOI has set conditions requiring the development of more than 600 Thai personnel in science and technology and the sending of more than 130 Thai personnel for specialized technology training abroad.

Infineon opens new semiconductor plant in Thailand with total project cost of 1.4 billion dollars
German semiconductor giant Infineon Technologies opened a new plant in Thailand on the first of the month. The new facility on the outskirts of Bangkok is a back-end site handling semiconductor assembly and testing, with an initial investment of more than 100 million euros, or 113.57 million dollars, while the total project value reaches 1.4 billion dollars according to a statement from Thailand's Board of Investment. According to Infineon Chief Operating Officer Alexander Gorski, the site initially features cleanrooms, the controlled environments required for semiconductor manufacturing, of up to 30,000 square meters, and can be expanded to as much as 150,000 square meters in the future. Gorski said this is a strategic long-term investment and cited Thailand's proximity to major markets such as China as a strength. According to Gorski, Infineon has 13 manufacturing sites in the United States, Europe, China and Southeast Asia, and leveraging existing cleanroom capacity could potentially double its revenue. The expansion in Thailand is also part of efforts to offer customers dual sourcing, and Narit, secretary-general of the Board of Investment, said the agency is focusing on photonics, power semiconductors and sensors as part of a long-term strategy in the semiconductor field, aiming to attract 18 billion dollars in semiconductor investment by 2030.

Infineon Opens Backend Manufacturing Hub in Bangkok, Targeting Up to 1,000 Jobs
Infineon Technologies AG officially inaugurated its new backend manufacturing site in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, together with Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister of Thailand, and Alexander Gorski, Chief Operations Officer of Infineon Technologies. The greenfield facility is built for phased expansion and can scale up to five modules, giving Bangkok the potential to become one of Infineon's largest backend manufacturing sites over time; it currently employs around 350 people and is expected to grow to approximately 1,000 employees as the first building, Module A, ramps up. The site covers the full spectrum of semiconductor backend processes as well as wafer test, complementing the ongoing expansion of Infineon's frontend manufacturing capacities and serving automotive, industrial and energy infrastructure applications. The Bangkok site runs on 100 percent green electricity and incorporates water recycling, rainwater collection and on-site solar modules. Infineon had around 57,000 employees worldwide at the end of September 2025 and generated revenue of about €14.7 billion in its 2025 fiscal year.

Yuanta maintains Buy on SMT with 8.40 baht target, expects Q3/69 normalized profit to grow 65% QoQ
Yuanta Securities (Thailand) has maintained its Buy rating on Stars Microelectronics (Thailand), or SMT, and raised its end-2570 target price to 8.40 baht per share from 7.60 baht, based on a PER of 25 times, after lifting its 2570 profit forecast on the back of strength in the Optical business. The stock price as of September 30, 2569 stood at 6.05 baht, implying 38.8% upside to the target price. Yuanta's research team expects SMT to post normalized profit of 56 million baht in the third quarter of 2569, up 65% QoQ and a turnaround from a loss of 49 million baht in the third quarter of 2568. If achieved, this would mark a second consecutive quarter of normalized profit following eight straight quarters of losses, and is expected to be the highest profit in three years. Sales revenue in the third quarter of 2569 is expected at 780 million baht, up 10% QoQ and 41% YoY, driven by a recovery in the IC Packaging, PCBA & Box Build, and Optical businesses. Gross margin is expected to rise to 14.6% from 13.0% in the second quarter of 2569 and 1.4% in the third quarter of 2568. SG&A is expected at 69 million baht, flat QoQ and up 11.3% YoY. For the fourth quarter of 2569, the research team expects normalized profit to continue rising both QoQ and YoY on strong orders, particularly in the Optical business, where production for global customers is expected to ramp up gradually. Yuanta maintained its 2569 normalized profit forecast at 150 million baht, a turnaround from a loss of 146 million baht in 2568, and raised its 2570 normalized profit forecast to 282 million baht, up 88% YoY, or an average of about 70 million baht per quarter, from what it said was previously an overly conservative estimate. It expects revenue of 2.67 billion baht in 2569 and 3.204 billion baht in 2570, with EBITDA of 359 million baht and 510 million baht respectively. Core EPS in 2570 is put at 0.34 baht, up 88.1%. Yuanta noted that SMT's valuation remains a laggard, with the stock trading at a 2570 PER of about 18 times, while leading stocks in the sector trade in a range of 27 to 64 times. However, SMT's key risks are its high reliance on a single major customer and volatility tied to the industry cycle.
