Bangkok Bank PCLPhillip Securities expects BBL's Q3 2026 profit to fall 31.9% YoY on lower interest income and reduced gains from financial instruments.

Analysts at Phillip Securities (Thailand) Public Company Limited expect BBL to report a third-quarter 2026 profit of 9.4 billion baht, down 31.9% from the same period a year earlier, on lower interest income following cuts to lending rates and reduced gains from financial instruments. Profit is expected to fall 1.2% from the previous quarter on higher interest costs and expenses. For the nine-month period of 2026, profit is expected to come in at 25.1 billion baht, up 2% from the same period a year earlier, helped by higher fee income and lower expenses. BBL's loans in the third quarter of 2026 are expected to contract 2% from the previous quarter, leaving loan growth at 0.6% compared with the end of 2025, and non-performing loans may rise further from the 3.3% recorded in the second quarter of 2026. The brokerage maintains its 2026 profit forecast for BBL at 42 billion baht, down 8.5% from a year earlier, and with the current share price still holding a reasonable gap below the base price of 218 baht, it continues to recommend a Buy.
