Summary · why it matters

Bumrungrad International Hospital (BH) has announced the enhancement of its dry eye care services through a dedicated dry eye clinic under its ophthalmology center, utilizing IDRA technology to thoroughly analyze the tear film system and devise personalized treatment plans. Dr. Artirat Charukitpipat, Chief Executive Officer, stated that dry eye disease is becoming more prevalent, particularly due to increased screen usage habits. The hospital emphasizes in-depth diagnosis and multidisciplinary treatment. The hospital has been ranked by Newsweek as number one in Asia for refractive surgery and number three for cataract surgery, maintaining the top position in Thailand for both categories for the second consecutive year. Professor Dr. Ngamjit Kasetsuwan, Head of the Dry Eye Clinic, noted that dry eye is not solely caused by insufficient tear production but also includes meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD). IDRA technology helps accurately identify the underlying causes. Treatments range from behavioral modifications and warm compresses to light-based therapies (LLLT and IPL), and for severe cases, PRP or autologous serum eye drops may be used.
