Cotton futures extended their rally early Tuesday, with December 2026 cotton up 102 points after posting triple-digit gains on Monday. The US cotton crop condition slipped to 46% good-to-excellent, down 2 percentage points from the prior week, according to Monday's Crop Progress report. Managed money trimmed its net long position in cotton futures and options by 6,460 contracts to 31,985 contracts as of June 30. The Cotlook A Index fell 75 points to 85.80 cents on July 3, while the Adjusted World Price dropped 194 points to 61.94 cents per pound.
