USDA's Crop Progress report showed 73% of the US cotton crop squared, 1% ahead of normal, with 32% setting bolls, matching the five-year average. Condition ratings improved to 45% good to excellent, up one percentage point from the prior week, lifting the Brugler500 index by one point to 332. The Cotlook A Index fell 225 points to 88.40 cents on July 17, while the Adjusted World Price was raised 3.52 cents to 65.37 cents per pound on Thursday.
