Cotton prices are rallying on Tuesday morning, with nearby contracts up 105 to 110 points. Futures had been down 8 to 22 points in the front months, while other contracts were up 2 to 40 points. The Monday Crop Progress report showed condition ratings at 42% good to excellent, down 4 percentage points on the week, and the Brugler500 index fell 11 points to 325, with a large portion of that drop coming in Texas. June export shipments totaled 1.245 million bales excluding linters, a four-month low but a four-year high. The Cotlook A Index rose 95 points on August 3 to 90.80 cents, and ICE certified cotton stocks declined by 1,235 bales on Monday to 86,371 bales.
