Insurance stocks fell across the board this morning amid concerns that flooding in Thailand will cause claim payouts to surge. As of 10:28 a.m., THRE dropped 6.56%, down 0.04 baht to 0.57 baht, with trading value of 8.88 million baht. TIPH fell 4.40 baht, down 1.10 baht to 23.90 baht, with trading value of 25.98 million baht. TVH declined 4.39%, down 0.50 baht to 10.90 baht, with trading value of 578,000 baht. BKIH slipped 0.52%, down 2.00 baht to 385.00 baht, with trading value of 6.77 million baht. Dao Securities (Thailand) said the flood situation in Thailand still requires close monitoring, after heavy to very heavy rain and water masses from the North flowing into the Central region caused flooding in 25 provinces covering 128 districts. Bangkok and its vicinity faced continuous heavy rain from September 25–27, 2026, causing flooding in many areas and affecting travel. Recently, rainfall has tended to decrease but repeated rain still needs monitoring, and drainage will take about 1–2 days. The government therefore declared special public holidays in Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, and Samut Prakan on September 28–29 to mitigate the impact and reduce public travel. Dao Securities assessed that the short-term impact on the SET Index comes from negative sentiment toward economic activity, but expects the impact on operating results to remain limited. Meanwhile, insurance stocks, namely TIPH, TVH, MTI, BKI, and AYUD, have been affected by flood-related claim payouts.
