Heineken is in talks to acquire 300 pubs from UK pub group Stonegate, according to a Sunday Times report, though both companies have declined to confirm the deal. A Heineken spokesperson declined to comment when approached by Just Drinks, while Stonegate said it continues to assess options for a portfolio of outlets it calls its Platinum pubs, which could include a refinancing, a partial sale, or a full sale of the sites. Stonegate said no decisions have been made and reported profits up 9% to a record £201m in the first half of the year. Heineken already owns around 2,350 pubs in the UK through its Star Pubs business, most of them leased to independent operators. Stonegate, one of the UK's largest pub groups, reported revenue fell 7.4% to £1.62bn and adjusted EBITDA declined 5.6% to £372m in its accounts for the 52 weeks ended 28 September 2025, when it had 4,259 operating sites, down from 4,370 a year earlier. Shore Capital analyst Greg Johnson said Stonegate is exploring options for the Platinum portfolio and expects to complete over £100m of group-wide disposals this year.
