Leading auto parts maker Joyson Electronics recently held an earnings briefing, saying its intelligent driving business is gradually entering the stage of mass production and delivery, and has already entered the supply chain systems of leading domestic and overseas companies. According to the company's semi-annual report, in the first half of 2026 the intelligent driving business entered mass production and delivery, with domestic and global customer project nominations being advanced at full speed. Overseas, the company has secured mass production project nominations and project validation cooperation from European, Japanese and Korean original equipment manufacturers, and its products will serve global markets including Europe and Asia. In the intelligent computing center field, in response to the higher requirements that AI data centers place on highly reliable power supply and distribution, energy management, thermal management and system integration, the company is accelerating the development of products and integrated solutions such as AC/DC power conversion units, high-power DC/DC power conversion units, fully immersed liquid-cooled power cabinets, and coolant distribution units. Huatai Securities is optimistic that the company's intelligent driving business is gradually entering the mass production stage, while new businesses such as emerging intelligent agents and AI data centers continue to expand, which is expected to open up long-term growth space. Guotai Haitong Securities expects that strategic emerging industries such as emerging intelligent agents are likely to create a brand-new growth curve for the company.

Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter of 2026, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 471,262 units, with deliveries up 1.3% sequentially but down 2.1% year over year. Through the first nine months of 2026, Tesla delivered 1,324,681 vehicles and needs just more than 311,448 units in the fourth quarter to break its streak of annual declines. The competitive picture remains concerning, as BYD sold 762,478 passenger battery-electric vehicles in the quarter, up roughly 31% year over year, while NIO delivered 109,178 vehicles, up 25.4% year over year. In the last reported quarter, automotive gross margin excluding regulatory credits slipped to 16.3%, and energy storage margins fell to 20.4% from 39.5%, while Tesla expects capital spending above $25 billion in 2026. Tesla's Oct. 21 earnings report is much-awaited, and TSLA stock currently carries a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).
Coco Robotics and Deliveroo Launch Exclusive UK Robot Delivery Partnership
Coco Robotics and Deliveroo have announced an exclusive partnership to bring autonomous robot deliveries to towns and cities across the UK, marking Coco's UK debut and Deliveroo's first use of autonomous delivery vehicles in the country. The rollout begins in London's Canary Wharf this October, followed by Milton Keynes, Leeds, Stockton on Tees and Nottingham in the coming weeks and months. Consumers will initially order from merchants including Patty&Bun, Signorelli and Beam in Wood Wharf, with the service area later expanding to Ole & Steen, Royal China and Din Tai Fung, while Milton Keynes will include Smoke and Pepper among others. The multi-city rollout extends Coco's broader expansion across Europe and will be backed by local investment in UK operational infrastructure, creating new skilled jobs in operations, maintenance and logistics supported by new depot and charging facilities. The partnership builds on Coco's existing collaborations with DoorDash and Wolt across cities including Los Angeles, San Jose, Chicago, Miami, Washington D.C. and Helsinki, and Coco is also in discussions with other councils across London and the UK.

Pony.ai and Verne Begin Europe's First Fully Driverless Robotaxi Trial in Zagreb
Pony.ai and its Croatian partner Verne have launched fully driverless robotaxi trials in Zagreb, the company's first such deployment in Europe. The service runs on public roads in Croatia's capital and is integrated with the Uber app for ride hailing. The Zagreb launch extends Pony.ai's autonomous ride service beyond its existing markets and gives the company a live European proof point for its joint deployment model, in which partners fund fleets while Pony.ai concentrates on Level 4 software and operations. Pony.ai, a US based software group focused on autonomous mobility in China and overseas, has a market cap of $2.8b, placing it in the mid sized bracket of global automation players. Investors can watch upcoming disclosures on paid ride volumes, fleet count and contribution margins from joint deployments like Zagreb to see whether unit economics in new cities start to resemble improving metrics already reported in Guangzhou and Shenzhen.

Tesla Q3 Deliveries Beat Estimates at 486,532 Vehicles
Tesla delivered 486,532 vehicles in the third quarter, easily surpassing expectations of roughly 461,000 vehicles. While deliveries still slipped 2% from the record 497,099 vehicles delivered a year ago, the sizable beat was encouraging amid lingering concerns over global EV demand. Tesla produced 464,391 vehicles during Q3, meaning deliveries exceeded production by more than 22,000 units, with Model 3 and Model Y vehicles accounting for 478,237 deliveries. Attention now turns to Tesla's full Q3 results, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 21, after the market closes, with the Zacks Consensus projecting Q3 revenue of $27.61 billion, a roughly 2% year-over-year decline, and earnings of $0.45 per share versus EPS of $0.50 in the prior-year quarter. Tesla stock remains down more than 15% year-to-date and carries a forward P/E multiple of 200X at around $370 a share, the highest in the Mag 7, and lands a Zacks Rank #4 (Sell).
Micron CEO flags self-driving cars and humanoid robots as next memory demand driver
Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said on the company's Q4 earnings call that physical AI, starting with self-driving cars and expanding to humanoid robots, could become a significant driver of memory and storage demand by the end of this decade. In its Q4 report on Wednesday, Micron reported earnings per share of $33.42, up 1,002% from $3.03 in the same quarter last year, while revenue climbed 379% to $54.23 billion from $11.31 billion in Q4 2025. Mehrotra said memory content in level 4 and higher autonomous vehicles typically exceeds 200 gigabytes, with storage reaching multiple terabytes, each more than an order of magnitude greater than in today's level two plus and level three semi-autonomous vehicles. He added that humanoid robots will have similar memory and storage requirements, which could serve as an additional revenue opportunity. Companies working on humanoid robots include Tesla, Figure, Hyundai's Boston Dynamics, Unitree Robotics, and Agility Robotics, though Reuters reported only 7,000 humanoid robots were sold globally in 2025 for industrial and professional services.
