Krungthai Card PCLKTC highlights rising single-person households and growth in pet and travel spending, indicating increased demand for its card services.

Krungthai Card, or KTC, believes the solo-living economy is transforming Thailand's economic structure. The share of single-person households rose from 22.3 percent in 2021 to 26.5 percent in 2024, while average household size fell to 2.6 people. KTC notes that consumers continue to spend on quality of life, with pet-category spending in the first half of 2026 growing 12 percent and spending by KTC members in South Korea jumping 40 percent from a year earlier. KTC advises businesses to understand differing lifestyles and design more personalised products. Analysts see this megatrend creating opportunities for listed companies in credit cards, restaurants, tourism, health, and pets.
