Landstar System has appointed William “Bill” Clement as Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer, effective August 1, 2026. Clement, who brings more than 30 years of transportation and logistics leadership experience, will lead Landstar’s commercial strategy and support its independent agent network. He most recently served as Group President and Chief Strategy Officer at CRST and previously spent 26 years at CSX Corporation, where he was President of the intermodal business unit. The company also announced that Jim Applegate will become Chief Strategy & Transformation Officer and Matt Dannegger will serve as Special Advisor to the CEO until his retirement in March 2027.
