Opti9 Technologies, a Canadian cloud and cybersecurity services provider, has acquired Hut 8's Canadian managed cloud business, the company announced Thursday. The deal includes Hut 8's traditional managed cloud services in Canada, with ten team members moving to Opti9, while Hut 8 retains ownership of its Canadian data centers and continues its GPU and high-performance computing operations. As part of the transaction, Opti9 and Hut 8 have entered into a multi-year colocation agreement, allowing Opti9 to operate the acquired cloud infrastructure at Hut 8's data centers. Customers of the acquired business will gain access to Opti9's broader platform and team, enhancing their technology resources.
