President Automobile Industries Public Company LimitedPACO expects only a slight rise in replacement auto air-conditioning parts sales from Bangkok floods, as most owners will just clean systems rather than replace components.

Somchai Lertkhajornkitt, Chief Executive Officer of President Automobile Industries Public Company Limited, or PACO, disclosed that domestic sales of replacement automotive air-conditioning parts are likely to rise only slightly from the flooding in the Bangkok area, as relatively few vehicles are expected to need replacement parts. Most car owners are likely to choose to have their air-conditioning systems cleaned rather than replace all components, based on the company's experience with the floods in Hat Yai, where most vehicle owners brought their cars in mainly for air-conditioning system flushing services. The parts most likely to need replacing are mostly low-value items such as desiccants, air filters, and expansion valves. As for the operating performance trend in the third quarter of 2026, it is expected to be close to the same period last year. Exports account for approximately 65% of total revenue, with the main market in the Middle East, which was previously affected by the war situation, forcing shipping routes to be changed and delaying deliveries, though the situation has now begun to return to normal while orders remain stable. Meanwhile, domestic sales in the third and fourth quarters are likely to slow slightly due to seasonal factors from the rainy and winter seasons. Overall operations in 2026 are expected to be flat compared with last year, with the company continuing to focus on maintaining profit levels close to last year's amid challenges from the domestic economy, overseas war situations, and the price of a key raw material, aluminium, which has risen considerably. However, the company is still supported by the strengthening US dollar, which helps offset rising costs.
