Shares of Stars Microelectronics (Thailand), or SMT, rose 7.63% to 6.35 baht at 10:05 a.m. on September 23, 2026, with trading value of 181.55 million baht, driven by speculative buying in electronics stocks linked to the Optical, Photonics, and AI Infrastructure themes. The research division of Yuanta Securities (Thailand) said SMT's earnings recovery is becoming clearer, supported by forward orders covering roughly 8 to 12 months, particularly in Optical and Photonics products, which have the potential to be a key driver in 2027. Yuanta Securities expects SMT to post normal profit of approximately 256 million baht in 2027, up about 70% from the previous year, while maintaining a buy recommendation and a target price of 7.60 baht. In the first half of 2026, SMT reported total revenue of 1.313 billion baht, up 30% from the same period a year earlier, and net profit of 51 million baht.
