Sonoco Products Company has appointed Francesco Giannolo as vice-president and general manager for its consumer packaging business in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Giannolo joined Sonoco in 2019 and has led its rigid paper containers business in EMEA since 2022. He reports to Ernest Haynes, who heads the company's global consumer packaging segment, which was recently unified under one leadership structure and generates about $5.2 billion in yearly sales across 98 sites in 25 countries. Giannolo has 23 years of packaging industry experience, including roles at Crown Packaging and Amcor.
