Q1 revenue and profit up, first dividend increase in two years
Takara Tomy has released its first-quarter results for the fiscal year ending March 2027, starting with higher revenue and profit. Revenue rose 7.7 percent year on year to 64.047 billion yen, operating profit increased 19.9 percent to 5.512 billion yen, and net profit grew 19.6 percent to 4.058 billion yen. The company plans a full-year dividend of 70 yen per share, up 6 yen from the previous year, marking its first dividend increase in two years. For shareholder perks, it will give a limited-edition Tomica to holders of 100 shares or more, and a Licca-chan doll to those with 1,000 shares or more, while also launching a discount program on its official online store. The stock has risen on expectations for toy demand amid a weak yen and higher oil prices. Although it fell 8.03 percent the day after the earnings announcement, hopes for market growth continue to provide support.
