Avex Inc. is an entertainment company operating in the music, artist management, animation, visual content, and other businesses in Japan. It operates through three segments: music, anime & visual content, and overseas. The company plans, produces, and sells musical content; publishes and distributes music; and plans, produces, and manages concerts and events. It also manages artists, talents, and creators, operates fan clubs, and sells tickets. In addition, it plans, develops, and manages e-commerce sites; plans, produces, sells, and distributes digital content; plans and produces game software; supplies animation titles to video distribution services; engages in film distribution; and plans, produces, and distributes entertainment content. The company was formerly known as Avex Group Holdings Inc. and changed its name to Avex Inc. in November 2017. Avex Inc. was incorporated in 1973 and is based in Tokyo, Japan.

Avex Acquires 85% of Brandon Silverstein's S10 Entertainment

Avex Inc. has increased its ownership of S10 Entertainment to 85%, acquiring the stake from Brandon Silverstein and his partners under an agreement to reach 100% ownership over time. Silverstein continues as CEO of S10 and Avex Music Group, and as a board member and equity partner in Avex Music Group, while taking on a broader role shaping Avex Group's global music strategy across recorded music, publishing, live entertainment, touring and investments. The deal follows Avex's March 2025 acquisition of the S10 Music Publishing catalog, which at the time reported more than 22 global No. 1 hits and 50 billion streams worldwide, with a repertoire including songs recorded by Justin Bieber, Drake, Tate McRae, Doja Cat, Post Malone and Rihanna. Since Silverstein became CEO in 2025, Avex Music Group has announced a global publishing administration partnership with Bruno Mars and launched an initial $100 million publishing acquisition initiative. Avex Inc. drove nearly $1 Billion in revenue in its last fiscal year, and financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Game and entertainment stocks in morning trade: Takara Tomy, Avex, and others hit year-to-date highs; Silicon Studio rebounds sharply on advisor appointment

On the morning of July 21, the Nikkei Stock Average rebounded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, ending the morning session up 1,114.56 yen at 65,255.68 yen. Among the 99 registered game and entertainment-related stocks, 72 rose, with buying dominating. Takara Tomy, Avex, and Mandarake hit year-to-date highs. Silicon Studio announced that Noriyuki Sawatani, president of AEROSALVA, which is developing next-generation search and rescue systems, has been appointed as an advisor, and the stock rebounded sharply. Nintendo fell back on selling into strength, while Toho rose for a third straight day, with the company explaining that despite a 28 percent decline in first-quarter operating profit to 13.8 billion yen, it was effectively an increase in profit.
