Atomic Raises $12.5M Series A to Build AI Control System for Physical Goods Companies

Atomic, the AI-native supply chain planning platform founded by former Tesla supply chain leaders, has raised a $12.5 million Series A led by Klass Capital and Madrona. Adrian Schauer of Klass Capital and Matt McIlwain of Madrona join Atomic's board alongside Jon McNeill, co-founder and CEO of DVx Ventures and the former President of Tesla, whose firm incubated Atomic. The company was founded by Michael Rossiter, Neal Suidan, and Jeff Goodrich, who together led Sales and Operations Planning and planning at Tesla through the Model 3 ramp-up and built a 50-person planning engineering organization. Atomic already automates 90% of purchasing across hundreds of sites for DoorDash's DashMart business, which migrated to Atomic in about three months with feature parity and zero business disruption, and Good Chop, HelloFresh's meat box subscription business, used Atomic to reduce inventory on hand from eight or nine weeks to four while more than doubling revenue. Atomic will use the funding to extend its platform from planning and decision support into a control system that connects a company's business objectives to its daily operating decisions, with AI agents extending the capability of human teammates, and to support larger enterprise deployments of its Nucleus AI agent platform.

Locus Robotics Helps HelloFresh Expand Temperature-Controlled SKU Capacity 5X

Locus Robotics announced that a cold-storage hardware modification developed for HelloFresh has enabled the meal kit company to expand chilled fulfillment capacity from 100 SKUs to 500 SKUs, a fivefold increase. The deployment began with a pilot of 13 Locus Origin robots at HelloFresh brand Factor in July 2025, where robots averaged a mission time of 3 minutes and 36 seconds from order induction to box drop-off. HelloFresh then added 26 more robots within three months and plans to support EveryPlate fulfillment later this year. To meet the demands of refrigerated operations, Locus Robotics developed a heated motor enhancement and charging modifications for reliable continuous operation in cold storage. The automation currently supports approximately 12,000 square feet of HelloFresh's chilled fulfillment space, including two high-speed meal kit picking lines.

HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry launch summer campaign to fight childhood hunger

HelloFresh and No Kid Hungry announced the "Kids Helping Kids to End Childhood Hunger" initiative to provide relief during the summer hunger crisis. The campaign addresses the fact that one in five US households faces childhood hunger, a problem that worsens when school-provided meals end. A HelloFresh-commissioned survey found that 80% of parents are concerned about hunger and food affordability, with 51% reporting difficulty affording essential food in the past year. The initiative will host meal distribution events led by local youth groups, delivering free HelloFresh meals and grocery assistance resources. This builds on HelloFresh's Meals with Meaning program, which delivers 36,000 meals weekly to households in need.
