It also offers debt, mezzanine, and equity investment capital to companies in various commercial industries, and raises deposits and conducts other banking activities. Incorporated in 1995, it is headquartered in New York City, New York.

Medallion Bank Prices $55M Reopening of Series G Preferred Stock

Medallion Bank announced the pricing of a public offering of 2.2 million additional shares of its 9.00% Fixed-Rate Reset Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, Series G, at a liquidation preference of $25 per share, raising an aggregate $55 million. The transaction represents a reopening of Medallion Bank's initial Series G Preferred Stock issuance from May 22, 2025, and the shares will trade on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol MBNKO. The underwriters have been granted a 30-day option to purchase up to an additional 330 thousand shares to cover over-allotments. Dividends on the Series G shares are set at a fixed annual rate of 9.00% until July 1, 2030, then adjust to the five-year U.S. Treasury rate plus 4.94% per year, with payments made quarterly starting October 1, 2026. Medallion Bank intends to use the net proceeds for general corporate purposes, which may include redeeming some or all of its outstanding Senior Series E Non-Cumulative Perpetual Preferred Stock, subject to Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation approval, and the offering is expected to close on September 30, 2026. Upon completion, Medallion Bank will remain a wholly owned subsidiary of Medallion Financial Corp.

Medallion Financial reports Q2 net income of $7.4 million as total assets surpass $3 billion

Medallion Financial Corp. reported second-quarter net income attributable to stockholders of $7.4 million, or $0.31 per share, compared to $11.1 million, or $0.46 per share, in the prior-year quarter. Net interest income grew 7% to $57.2 million, while loan originations surged 63% to $611.6 million, including $247.1 million from strategic partnership originations. Total assets exceeded $3.0 billion for the first time in company history, reaching $3.194 billion as of June 30, 2026, and the total loan portfolio rose 12.5% to $2.795 billion. The company recorded a credit loss provision of $22.3 million, up from $21.6 million a year ago, and repurchased 779,799 shares at an average cost of $9.85 per share for $7.7 million. A quarterly cash dividend of $0.14 per share was declared, payable on August 31, 2026.
