NB Private Equity Partners Posts 1.9% H1 NAV Return, $150 Million in Realizations

NB Private Equity Partners reported a 1.9% net asset value total return in U.S. dollar terms for the first half, or 3.4% in sterling, as private investment valuation gains offset a limited number of markdowns across the portfolio. The company also said its August monthly NAV rose 1.7%, primarily driven by gains in quoted holdings, and that NAV total return for the eight months ended Aug. 31 was 4.2%. Portfolio companies continued to post double-digit operating growth, with weighted-average last-12-month revenue growth of 11.1% and EBITDA growth of 12.1%, compared with 9.1% and 9.7% respectively at year-end. NB Private Equity Partners announced $150 million of first-half realizations, representing 12% of opening portfolio NAV, of which $92 million had been received and $58 million remained outstanding from signed transactions, with visibility on an additional $68 million of proceeds expected over the coming months. The company invested $104 million across six new portfolio companies in the first half and subsequently committed a further $60 million, bringing total commitments for 2026 to approximately $164 million across nine portfolio companies, including more than $50 million across three unnamed AI-focused growth equity investments. NB Private Equity Partners returned $144 million to shareholders year to date, equal to about 12% of opening NAV and roughly double the $62 million returned a year earlier, and announced the appointment of David MacLellan as an independent director and chair designate, with current Chair William Maltby due to retire after the board's December meeting.
