Government revenue beats target by 57.5 billion baht over 11 months, but 810 billion baht borrowed to cover deficit

The Ministry of Finance reported government revenue collection for the first 11 months of fiscal year 2026, saying the state collected net revenue of 2.606845 trillion baht, exceeding the estimate by 57.498 billion baht, or 2.3% above target, and 4% higher than the same period last year. The main support came from value-added tax, which continued to be collected well, along with additional dividends from accumulated profits of the Vayupak Fund One and some state enterprises that paid higher-than-expected dividends. By collection agency, the Revenue Department collected 2.162122 trillion baht, 3.7% above target, while the Excise Department collected 518.737 billion baht, 2.2% below target, and the Customs Department collected 106.151 billion baht, 5.6% below target. State enterprises remitted 197.356 billion baht, 20.4% above target, and other agencies remitted 165.760 billion baht, 9.6% above target. On the fiscal position under the cash flow system, the government had revenue remitted to the treasury of 2.566432 trillion baht, up 3.6%, budget disbursements of 3.647435 trillion baht, up 8.1%, and borrowed 810.488 billion baht to cover the deficit, down 6.8% from the same period last year. As a result, the treasury balance at the end of August 2026 stood at 367.332 billion baht, down 20.1%. For fiscal year 2026, the government has set a total revenue target of 3 trillion baht, with the Revenue Department targeting 2.4471 trillion baht, the Excise Department 578.2 billion baht, the Customs Department 122.2 billion baht, other government agencies 152.9 billion baht, and state enterprises 182.6 billion baht.

BCP notifies Social Security Office and Vayupak Fund of reduced holdings, says no impact on management

Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, or BCP, reported changes in its major shareholders' holdings, after the Social Security Office and the Vayupak One mutual fund sold shares on 7 September 2026 and 18 September 2026 respectively. The Social Security Office's holding fell from 148,414,497 shares, or 10.14 percent, to 145,414,497 shares, or 9.94 percent. The Vayupak One mutual fund's holding fell from 146,777,046 shares, or 10.03 percent, to 146,277,046 shares, or 9.99 percent. The company stated that these changes in major shareholders' holdings have no effect on control of the company, its business policies, or the structure of its board of directors or management, and that control and management of the company remain unchanged.
