Amata Corporation Public Company LimitedFlooding at Amata Chonburi Industrial Estate disrupted operations and forced some factories to temporarily suspend work, though the company says new-investor confidence is unaffected.

Miss Dendao Komolmes, Chief Financial Officer of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, or AMATA, disclosed that the flooding situation within Amata Chonburi Industrial Estate was caused by several consecutive days of heavy rain combined with external water masses flowing in, because the estate area forms part of the drainage route to the sea, making some areas the first to receive water. Currently, AMATA has fully blocked and built barriers against external water masses and is accelerating the pumping of water out of the area. The water level is expected to recede until completely dry and return to normal within 1-3 days from 2 October 2026. Most of the area was unaffected. The mainly affected areas are in the rear phases, namely Phases 7, 8 and 9, which have water levels higher than normal, while the large AMATA Smart City Chonburi area and Amata City Rayong Industrial Estate were unaffected. As for some factories that temporarily suspended operations, the cause was transport and employee travel restrictions, not direct flooding of factory buildings, and the number of factories actually affected is expected to be lower than the figures appearing in the news. Regarding the confidence of new investors, AMATA confirmed there has been no impact, and it continues to move forward with negotiations with investors, while applying its business continuity management plan from the first day of the incident and will draw lessons to upgrade disaster response measures against future climate change.
