Bank of Ayudhya PCLBAY must defer principal and reduce installments for flood-hit borrowers, delaying cash inflows and raising credit-risk costs.

Bank of Ayudhya Public Company Limited, or BAY, has announced urgent measures to ease the hardship of individual customers, SME operators, and Krungsri Auto debtors affected by flooding. Customers with personal loans, home loans, and small SME loans can reduce their monthly installments, which cover interest payable each month, for up to 6 months, or defer principal payments and pay only interest for up to 3 months. SME business loan customers can reduce installments for up to 6 months, or defer principal payments for up to 6 months, by registering their intention at any branch nationwide or through the Krungsri Call Center at 1572 from today until 31 December 2026. For Krungsri Auto customers, installments can be deferred for 3 months, with registrations accepted until 30 November 2026. Meanwhile, credit card and personal loan customers in the Krungsri Consumer group have two options: debt suspension for up to 3 billing cycles between October 2026 and December 2026, during which interest continues to be calculated at the normal reducing-balance rate, and a reduction of monthly installments by extending the repayment period. Customers must register their intention by 31 October 2026 through the card member service center or the Helpline at 02-714-5155, and requests will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the company's criteria and conditions.
