Eurozone CPI data shows inflation slowing, which may reduce pressure on ECB to hike rates, weakening the euro.
The final Eurozone consumer price index for June, released by the European Union statistics office on the 17th, rose 2.8% from a year earlier, unchanged from the flash estimate and slowing from May's 3.2%. The core index, which excludes energy, food, and other items, increased 2.4%, matching the flash reading. By component, services rose 3.2%, food, alcohol, and tobacco gained 1.5%, and energy climbed 8.5%, all decelerating from the previous month.
