The Federation of Thai Industries, or FTI, reported that exports of completely built-up cars in August 2026 came to 69,724 units, down 2.04% from the same period a year earlier. Surapong Paisitpatanapong, adviser to the chairman of the automotive industry group and spokesman for the group, said the main cause was a further decline in exports to the Middle East, which fell by 7,146 units, or 40.24%. Over the six months of fighting, exports to the Middle East dropped by as much as 46,268 units. At present it is still not possible to assess when the Middle East war will come to a permanent end. However, in August exports rose in the Asian, Australian, African and North American markets, while exports fell in the European, Central American and South American markets.
