LOréal S.A.CCI cleared L'Oréal India's acquisition of Onesto Labs, advancing L'Oréal's M&A deal.

The Competition Commission of India has cleared L'Oréal India's acquisition of beauty and personal-care company Onesto Labs, the legal entity behind the Innovist personal-care platform. The CCI said the proposed combination pertains to the acquisition of 100% shareholding in Onesto Labs Private Limited by L'Oréal India Private Limited, and noted that a full order on the transaction is forthcoming. Onesto Labs was rebranded as Innovist in 2022 and develops and markets skincare and haircare products under brands including Bare Anatomy, Chemist at Play, SunScoop, Vinci Botanicals and Anecdote. L'Oréal disclosed in June its intention to purchase a controlling stake in Innovist, and as part of the deal Innovist's founders will hold on to a minority share and remain involved in running and expanding the company alongside L'Oréal India, with the Innovist brands set to be folded into L'Oréal's consumer products division. No financial terms of the deal have been made public.
