Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, who also serves as Interior Minister, chaired a meeting of the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command to monitor the situation and assistance for flood victims. He said the overall situation has improved and stressed that all agencies must use only a single shared data set to reduce confusion and discrepancies in assessing the situation. The Prime Minister instructed all agencies, including every provincial governor, to prepare for a new wave of rain, as the Meteorological Department assesses that between October 4 and 5 there is a risk of heavy storms covering many areas of the country, especially the South, where heavy rain is expected from October 5 and will intensify on October 10-12. He therefore urged areas from Prachuap Khiri Khan province down to Narathiwat province, including Hat Yai, which suffered major flooding in late 2025, to prepare food, medicine, and standardized shelters with clean toilets well in advance. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Defence has deployed more than 100 Royal Thai Navy water-pushing vessels to assist various provinces, and Bangkok has built understanding and cooperated in supporting the Royal Irrigation Department in water drainage. As for the criteria for compensating affected residents at the Khlong Chan housing project, they will follow the guidelines of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
