Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Stock Exchange of Thailand, or SET, and the New York Stock Exchange, or NYSE, and joined the bell-ringing ceremony to open trading, becoming the third Thai prime minister to take part in the event. Ekkapop Pianphisit, spokesperson for the Prime Minister's Office, said the partnership will help Thai companies reach global investors and funding sources, supporting fundraising, business expansion and cross-border investment. Asadej Kongsiri, director and manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, said the memorandum of understanding covers five areas of cooperation: simultaneous listing of securities on both exchanges, or dual listing; development and cross-market listing of ETF funds; market data and index products; development of ESG products and services; and the exchange of information and expertise between the two exchanges. The cooperation aligns with the BOI to IPO project and adds fundraising options for Thai listed companies. Will Goodwin, head of strategic operations and corporate affairs at the New York Stock Exchange, said the MOU is another important step in strengthening cooperation between the two exchanges. The Stock Exchange of Thailand and the NYSE have worked together since 1992, a partnership spanning more than three decades.
