PTT Group, together with Krungthai Bank, is building on their collaboration in ESG Financial Solutions to develop Carbon Credit Linked Derivatives, a financial innovation that links carbon credits with financial risk management tools. The goal is to expand options for businesses to manage risk while reducing greenhouse gas emissions, and to drive Thailand's carbon credit market toward international standards. The collaboration also supports the World Bank Group's Low Carbon Cities and Carbon Market Development Project, or LCC Project. Driving this cooperation forward are Ms. Pattaralada Sa-ngasang, Chief Financial Officer, and Mr. Chaturong Voravitsurasuwat, Senior Executive Vice President of the International Trading Business Unit at PTT Public Company Limited, along with Ms. Thananporn Tangpitakkul, Managing Director of PTT International Trading Pte Ltd, and Mr. Rawin Boonyanusasna, Head of the Money and Capital Markets Business Group at Krungthai Bank. Krungthai Bank takes on the role of bringing its expertise in the money and capital markets to develop the financial instruments, while PTT contributes knowledge in sustainable business operations and the transition to a low-carbon economy. PTT International Trading Pte Ltd supports the sourcing of quality carbon credits recognized at the international level. This integration of expertise across the financial sector, the energy sector, and the carbon market will help lay the foundation for Thailand's Carbon Finance Ecosystem, raise the carbon credit market to standards that are transparent and trustworthy, and support long-term Net Zero goals.
