Red Robin Gourmet Burgers IncRed Robin completed its refranchising initiative, generating ~$96M in proceeds to reduce debt and strengthen its balance sheet.

Red Robin has completed most of its sweeping refranchising initiative, shifting 108 restaurants to three multi-unit operators and generating roughly $89.4 million in proceeds, with eight additional locations slated to close by the end of fiscal 2026, bringing the total to approximately $96 million. The transactions are a key part of the company's First Choice Plan to reduce debt and refinance existing obligations. Op Burgers is acquiring the largest portion, 69 restaurants across eight states for $62.5 million, while Kuber Oregon and Kuber Washington purchased 17 locations for $10 million, and Evergreen Dining bought 30 restaurants for $23.5 million. CEO Dave Pace said the completion of these agreements is a critical step in strengthening the balance sheet and positioning the business for sustainable growth. Red Robin's same-store sales rose 1.3 percent in the second quarter, with traffic down just 0.2 percent, its best performance since early 2023, and restaurant-level operating margin increased to 14.7 percent, its best Q2 result in four years.
