Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sihasak Phuangketkeow disclosed that the IMF-World Bank 2026 meeting, which Thailand will host, will be attended by nearly 400 world leaders and prominent figures, most of them finance ministers and central bank governors from around the world. He said the forum will benefit Thailand and its economy because it will build confidence, and there will be several sessions discussing Thailand's economy. He noted that Thailand had previously taken part in the United Nations forum, where it set out its stance on global situations and the country's direction. Meanwhile, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul will travel to Singapore on October 7 on a same-day round trip to talk with businesspeople at the Forbes Global CEO forum, which will be attended by 400 CEOs from around the world. Sihasak also addressed flooding problems and airport management, saying preparations are needed but economic issues must be separated out. As for the impact on investment, he said it is a matter that must be managed and that investors need to take a long-term view. Separately, Police General Samran Nualma, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, confirmed readiness to provide security for the leaders attending this meeting, saying there is nothing to worry about, with intelligence work continuing continuously.
