The State Railway of Thailand, or SRT, has confirmed that the Airport Rail Link, or ARL, will continue operating until 31 January 2027, after SRT and Asia Era One Company Limited signed a memorandum of understanding on 29 September 2026 to support continuous train services from 1 October 2026 to 31 January 2027 so as not to disrupt public travel. SRT Governor Anan Phonimdaeng said that in the case where Asia Era One Company Limited notified its intention to terminate the joint investment contract for the high-speed rail project linking three airports from 1 October 2026, SRT has issued a letter objecting to the exercise of that right, because there are still issues that must be considered based on the facts, the conditions in the contract, and relevant legal provisions, including the principle of continuity of public service. SRT holds that the notification of intent does not yet have the effect of terminating the joint investment contract. SRT will proceed with the relevant steps carefully, strictly adhering to the framework of the contract and the law, while giving importance to the continuity of public service, the interests of the public, and the protection of the state's interests. If disputes remain over the rights or duties of the contracting parties, SRT will proceed according to the processes and mechanisms set out in the contract.
