According to the September consumer price index for Tokyo's 23 wards released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, the core CPI excluding fresh food came in at 102.6, up 2.7% from a year earlier. The private forecast compiled by Reuters was a 2.4% rise, and the actual increase exceeded it. The overall index for Tokyo's 23 wards also rose 2.7% year on year, while the index excluding fresh food and energy rose 3.0% year on year.
