Chinese leader President Xi Jinping concluded his official visit to the United States today, September 25, after completing a three-day official visit, his first trip to the United States in 11 years. Senior US government officials traveled to the airport to see President Xi off, along with a 21-gun salute in honor of the Chinese leader. Speaking at the White House, President Xi said he would have the chance to meet US President Donald Trump twice more this year: at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, or APEC, in the Chinese city of Shenzhen in November, and at the G20 summit, to be held in Miami, Florida, in December. President Trump accepted President Xi's invitation to meet again and said, "We'll have a lot more to talk about." Meanwhile, US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer said on CNBC's Squawk Box that the United States and China had reached an agreement on certain categories of goods the two sides could trade under improved terms, covering US agricultural products, medical equipment, and Chinese consumer goods deemed non-sensitive. The administration of President Donald Trump plans to unveil "many more details" on Monday about what the two sides were able to agree on during weeks of negotiations, with the goal of defining the scope of certain goods that could be exempted from future tariff measures or from the trade dispute.
