Teleste Unveils Luminato 4X4 Receiver for Live OTT to Broadcast TV

Teleste announced a new receiver for its Luminato 4X4 platform that lets operators deliver live over-the-top television streams to sites using conventional cable or IPTV distribution. Available in the fourth quarter of 2026, the receiver converts incoming OTT streams into the formats local systems require, so operators can extend their television offering without changing their delivery network or the site's television distribution. The adaptive bitrate receiver supports live MPEG-DASH streams and decryption of content protected by Widevine DRM, converting these services into MPEG transport streams for local IP multicast or QAM distribution, with IP and QAM outputs able to operate simultaneously. For cable distribution, the dense QAM module supports up to 32 QAM carriers per module, with support for DVB-C and ITU-T J.83 Annex B, while the Luminato 4X4 chassis accommodates up to six hot-swappable modules and dual power supplies. Julius Tikkanen, Vice President, Video Service Platforms at Teleste, said moving the incoming television feed to streaming does not mean every screen has to become a streaming device, and that Luminato handles that transition at the receiving site. The receiver will be available for both new Luminato 4X4 systems and compatible existing installations, with hotels, hospitals, care facilities and multi-dwelling properties cited as natural applications.

Comporium Names Teleste Sole Supplier for Future HFC Upgrades

Comporium, Inc. has selected Teleste as the sole supplier of amplifiers and network management solutions for its future HFC upgrades following a competitive RFP process. The decision covers Teleste's 1.8 GHz-capable ICON3000 line extenders and ICON4000 system amplifiers equipped with plug-in transponders, together with the Teleste Argus Network Management System and Virtual Device Manager, known as VDM. Comporium, a diversified communications provider serving more than 145,000 customers across the Carolinas, said the ICON amplifiers stood out in outside plant for RF performance, usability and speed of installation, while Argus, VDM and Teleste's amplifier telemetry were chosen for their maturity, feature depth and operational value. Mike Deller, Senior Vice President of Engineering and Planning at Comporium, said the ICON3000 and ICON4000 exceeded the desired RF performance during a field trial in the company's own plant. Steve Condra, Senior Vice President of North America Sales for Teleste, said the selection was not a single-product choice and that being named sole supplier reflects the maturity of the complete platform. Deployment will follow Comporium's priorities as it advances its high-split modernization and prepares for a later transition to 1.8 GHz.

Teleste Wins Siemens Mobility Contract for Copenhagen S-bane Modernization

Siemens Mobility has selected Teleste to deliver on-board passenger information and CCTV systems for the next generation of trains on the Copenhagen S-bane network operated by Danish State Railways (DSB). The initial contract value, excluding maintenance and additional train options, is approximately 40 million euros, with Teleste's deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028 and continue through 2040, and the first trains expected to enter passenger service in 2032. The project supports the modernization of the Danish railways through the introduction of 226 fully automated four-car trainsets, with an option for up to 100 additional units, creating the world's largest open railway system with automated train operation as part of the largest investment in the 90-year history of Copenhagen's S-bane network. Teleste's delivery includes on-board passenger information, public announcement, CCTV, and passenger communication systems, managed by its S-ARRIVE software platform. Valerian Sand, Executive Vice President, Public Safety and Mobility at Teleste, said the companies' first project together marks the beginning of a strong partnership in one of Europe's most significant rail modernization programs.

Teleste Launches Ultra-Low-Power E-Paper Displays for Public Transport

Teleste announced the expansion of its information display portfolio with a new outdoor e-paper display family engineered for exceptionally low power consumption. The battery- or solar-powered displays can reduce energy usage by up to 50% compared with other comparable battery-powered e-paper solutions currently on the market, and depending on system configuration and operating profile they can support a battery lifetime of up to 10 years. The displays feature Teleste's patent-pending intelligent energy management architecture and a bonded e-paper structure, support wireless content updates via mobile networks, and keep content visible even without continuous power. Available in multiple display sizes, they can be deployed as standalone information points or integrated into broader passenger information systems, and they integrate with Teleste Hub, the company's centralized content management platform, with APIs offered for operators using existing content management environments. Claudio Borrello, Business Director, Display Solutions at Teleste, said e-paper is becoming an increasingly important technology for delivering real-time passenger information, and that the company focused on long battery life, quality, a user-friendly and compact design, and easy integration. Teleste will show the new e-paper display family at InnoTrans 2026 in Hall 2.1, Stand 520.
