Warabeya Nichiyo to See Net Profit Fall 34% as U.S. Plant Launch Halted

Warabeya Nichiyo Holdings announced on the 7th that it has revised down its consolidated net profit forecast for the fiscal year ending February 2027 to 3.5 billion yen, a 34.5% decrease from the previous year. The previous forecast was 4.8 billion yen. The company has decided to halt the launch of a new factory it had been preparing in Ohio, and expects to record a special loss of 700 million yen. It cited consideration of a supply chain review by its client Seven-Eleven, which operates a convenience store business in North America. Rising packaging material costs amid the worsening situation in the Middle East also weighed on profits.
