Prime Minister and Interior Minister Anutin Charnvirakul is leading a delegation to Japan, the United States and the United Kingdom from September 20 to 27, 2026, to roadshow and build confidence among foreign investors. Joining the delegation are Asadej Kongsiri, director and manager of the Stock Exchange of Thailand, and Paiboon Nalinthrangkurn, chief executive officer of Tisco Securities, in his capacity as chairman of the Thai Capital Market Business Council. Paiboon said this year marks the first time in four years that foreign capital flows into the Thai stock market have been net positive, after a wait of 15 years, with Thailand the only country in Asia seeing foreign inflows. As a result, the Thai stock index has risen nearly 30%, while global markets are up around 11 to 12%, outperforming regional peers such as Vietnam and Indonesia. Foreign investment applications to the Board of Investment this year are at a record high, and the earnings of Thai listed companies in the first half of 2026 grew more than 20%. Asadej said that on the New York leg of the trip, the prime minister will meet a total of 30 US investors, following the Thailand Team meeting in Tokyo on September 21, 2026, to discuss ways to attract foreign capital and partners and to push investment in new industries through programmes such as BOI to IPO. Government spokesman Ekapop Pienpiset said the roadshow, held in parallel with the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, aims to build confidence in Thailand's economic growth potential. Most recently, all three major credit rating agencies revised their outlook on Thailand's credit rating to stable.
