Summary · why it matters

NextNav and Safran Electronics & Defense have announced an agreement to integrate and demonstrate interoperability between NextNav's terrestrial 5G Positioning, Navigation, and Timing network in Santa Clara County, California, and Safran's timing and navigation receiver. The collaboration aims to evaluate how terrestrial 5G-powered PNT capabilities can complement existing navigation and timing technologies and contribute to more resilient positioning, navigation, and timing solutions for drones, autonomous systems, critical infrastructure, and public safety operations. The program will assess how terrestrial PNT signals can provide additional layers of continuity, redundancy, and resilience for mission-critical applications that depend on assured positioning and timing services. Results from the testing program will support ongoing assessments of performance and applicability across critical infrastructure, autonomous systems, public safety, and national security use cases.

Teleste Wins Siemens Mobility Contract for Copenhagen S-bane Modernization

Siemens Mobility has selected Teleste to deliver on-board passenger information and CCTV systems for the next generation of trains on the Copenhagen S-bane network operated by Danish State Railways (DSB). The initial contract value, excluding maintenance and additional train options, is approximately 40 million euros, with Teleste's deliveries scheduled to begin in 2028 and continue through 2040, and the first trains expected to enter passenger service in 2032. The project supports the modernization of the Danish railways through the introduction of 226 fully automated four-car trainsets, with an option for up to 100 additional units, creating the world's largest open railway system with automated train operation as part of the largest investment in the 90-year history of Copenhagen's S-bane network. Teleste's delivery includes on-board passenger information, public announcement, CCTV, and passenger communication systems, managed by its S-ARRIVE software platform. Valerian Sand, Executive Vice President, Public Safety and Mobility at Teleste, said the companies' first project together marks the beginning of a strong partnership in one of Europe's most significant rail modernization programs.

New iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo Are First Apple Devices on Anterix 900 MHz Private Networks

Anterix announced that the new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo are the first iPhone models to operate on dedicated private LTE networks using Anterix 900 MHz spectrum. The two models bring iPhone connectivity to dedicated private wireless networks running on band 106 licensed 900 MHz spectrum, giving critical infrastructure operators another device for field communications, operational applications, video, situational awareness and other mission-critical activities. Carlos L'Abbate, Chief Technology and Engineering Officer of Anterix, said an iPhone used every day by millions of people can now operate on the same private 900 MHz network infrastructure that supports mission-critical operations, calling it another clear sign that dedicated private wireless networks are becoming mainstream communications platforms. With iPhone now supported on Anterix 900 MHz Band 106 networks, operators can incorporate a widely used mobile device into the same dedicated network infrastructure supporting specialized devices and operational systems across their environments. Anterix trades on Nasdaq under the ticker ATEX.

Samsara Guides Thinner Cash Margin, Higher Operating Margin for Fiscal 2027

Samsara now expects a thinner free cash flow margin and a fatter operating margin for fiscal 2027, as the company pays upfront for the IoT hardware that carries its AI subscriptions. The CFO said Samsara buys the devices upfront while revenue comes back ratably over the customer contract, and the company cited the IoT devices that faster growth needs, inventory it is prebuying as a buffer, and higher supply chain costs in the second half of fiscal 2027. Free cash flow margin is guided about 100 basis points below fiscal 2026, which on the $2.04 billion of revenue guided for fiscal 2027 works out to roughly $20 million, while the non-GAAP operating margin guide rose to 21% from 20%. More than 20% of Samsara's net new contract value came from emerging products in each of the last three quarters, and deals with a top-five U.S. city included more than $2 million of emerging products in fiscal Q2 2027. Samsara crossed $2.1 billion in annual recurring revenue in fiscal Q2 2027, up 30% over the past year, and raised its fiscal 2027 revenue, growth, operating margin and earnings guides at one release.
