Online brokerage Robinhood said on the 29th that it plans to make round-the-clock trading in some US stocks available on weekends as well. The company has offered 24-hour trading on weekdays since 2023, and about 10 months after introducing the feature it announced that as much as 25 percent of total trading volume on active days was generated outside traditional trading hours. This marks the first time Robinhood will enable weekend trading. It will first publish a curated list of stocks and exchange-traded funds eligible for weekend trading, and the feature, to be launched in partnership with overnight trading infrastructure firm Blue Ocean ATS, is currently awaiting review by regulators. There are concerns that thin liquidity outside traditional hours could prevent traders from getting the best prices, but global exchanges such as Nasdaq and the London Stock Exchange are also pushing ahead with plans to extend trading hours. Abhishek Fatehpuria, vice president of product management, said in an interview with Reuters that this year's focus is on giving active traders the tools that were previously available only to hedge funds, quant firms and many large active trading firms, and on making Robinhood the best place for active traders.
Blue Ocean ATS is named as Robinhood's overnight trading infrastructure partner for the new weekend trading feature.

Trinity Upgrades DR Terminal with Comprehensive Overseas Stock Data
Trinity Securities Company Limited, or TNITY, has launched an upgraded function for its DR Terminal platform, turning it into a comprehensive service that combines fundamental and technical data on overseas stocks in one place. Dechathana Fangsaaad, Assistant Managing Director of the Securities Analysis Department, noted that the depositary receipt market, or DR, offers more than 500 securities, exceeding the number of stocks on the main board of the Thai stock exchange. The new platform links databases from TradingView, Bloomberg, and Investing in real time. It divides usage into a Basic mode for beginners, which pulls consensus data from analysts worldwide for free, along with forward earnings guidance through 2026 and 2027, and an Advance mode featuring a Valuation Screener that filters stocks by in-depth criteria, such as finding stocks with more than 10% upside or selecting only the New York stock market. At the same time, the platform has a function to compare DRs from each issuer to check premiums, discounts, and liquidity, and recommends choosing to invest with issuers that are financial institutions or large banks, such as issuers number 80 and 01, SCB, or BBL. It also adds a Trinity Underlying Scanner function to capture investment timing from technical data on the underlying stocks directly. All functions are now open for investors to try out in real use.

SEC Approves Temporary Tokenized-Stock Framework That Excludes Robinhood's Existing Tokens
The SEC granted temporary, conditional exemptive relief on September 17 allowing approved venues to trade tokenized exchange-listed stocks onchain, sending Robinhood Markets Inc. shares up just over 9% on September 18 after a 5% gain the previous session. The relief exempts qualifying venues from the Exchange Act's definitions of "exchange" and, for certain liquidity providers, "dealer," but it requires full shareholder rights including voting and dividends, meaning Robinhood's existing stock tokens, which are synthetic products offering economic exposure rather than actual ownership, do not qualify. The order also lets listed companies object to third-party tokenization within 30 days, a provision directly at odds with the public stance of CEO Vlad Tenev, and the relief remains temporary and subject to public comments, with Coinbase and the NYSE's planned 24/7 digital venue potentially entering the compliant space first. Robinhood traded roughly 31.7 million shares, about 1.37 times its one-month average, though the stock sits about 28% below its 52-week high, with a forward P/E of 45.46x against a sector median of 10.88x. Hedge fund holders rose from 84 at the end of the first quarter of 2026 to 87 at the end of the second quarter of 2026, and short interest stood at 4.54% of float as of August 31, 2026.

HSBC Plans Deep UK Wealth Management Job Cuts in AI Push
HSBC Holdings is planning sweeping job cuts in its UK wealth management business as it seeks to use artificial intelligence to serve wealthy clients more efficiently, the Financial Times reported Wednesday, citing people familiar with the plans. About half of management and specialist roles could be eliminated, while the number of financial advisers may fall by about 70%, according to the FT report. One person described the proposed reductions as "deep, wide and brutal." The bank is in a consultation period over the changes, with affected employees expected to leave at the end of October. HSBC reportedly said it was continuing to evolve its UK wealth business with more digitally enabled products and services to meet changing customer needs, as CEO Georges Elhedery makes AI central to his strategy to simplify the bank. The reductions mark a reversal from a hiring drive launched two years ago to expand the bank's UK wealth and private banking operations.

Former PayPal CEO Launches Evergreen.ai for AI Financial Planning
Former PayPal CEO has launched Evergreen.ai, a new venture offering AI-powered personal financial advice, and says the service will remain free for beta users until January 1, 2028. The founder and CEO told Market Domination Overtime that the platform runs a purpose-built AI dedicated solely to personal financial advice, with all processing kept internal so nothing is trained or sent over the open internet. Evergreen.ai is a registered investment advisor, which he described as a legal obligation to act in users' interest rather than its own. After the beta period ends, the service will become paid and will add features such as investment management and lifetime planning. Beta users are asking most often about equity compensation and early retirement, and the platform includes tools that compare scenarios such as retiring at 65 versus 60.
