HSBC เปิดตัวสเตเบิลคอยน์ RedCoin พร้อมกระจายผ่าน PayMe
HSBC ประกาศชื่อสเตเบิลคอยน์ของตนอย่างเป็นทางการว่า HSBC RedCoin เมื่อวันที่ 30 กันยายน 2569 หลังจากได้รับเลือกให้เป็นหนึ่งในเพียงสองผู้ได้รับใบอนุญาตภายใต้กฎหมายสเตเบิลคอยน์ของฮ่องกง ธนาคารกลางฮ่องกงออกใบอนุญาตเมื่อวันที่ 10 เมษายน 2569 ให้เพียงสองรายจากผู้ยื่นคำขอ 36 ราย ได้แก่ HSBC และ Anchorpoint Financial ซึ่งเป็นกิจการร่วมค้าระหว่าง Standard Chartered, HKT และ Animoca Brands ตามรายงานของ Reuters กฎหมายดังกล่าวมีผลบังคับใช้เมื่อวันที่ 1 สิงหาคม 2568 HSBC RedCoin เป็นสเตเบิลคอยน์ที่เน้นลูกค้ารายย่อย ผูกกับดอลลาร์ฮ่องกง และไม่จ่ายดอกเบี้ย โดยผนวกเข้ากับแอปพลิเคชันมือถือ PayMe ซึ่งมีผู้ลงทะเบียน 3.3 ล้านราย คิดเป็นราวร้อยละ 40 ของประชากรฮ่องกง แม็กกี้ อึง ประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหารของ HSBC ฮ่องกง และหัวหน้าฝ่ายธนาคารรายย่อยและความมั่งคั่ง กล่าวว่าโทเคนนี้เป็นก้าวต่อไปที่เป็นธรรมชาติ มุ่งสนับสนุนนวัตกรรมทางการเงินของฮ่องกง ธนาคารแยกความแตกต่างของ RedCoin จากเงินฝากที่แปลงเป็นโทเคน เช่น JPM Coin ของ JPMorgan และบริการเงินฝากที่แปลงเป็นโทเคนของธนาคารเองสำหรับลูกค้าสถาบัน ซึ่งดำเนินการมาตั้งแต่ปี 2567
