Dogecoin Completes First Daily Golden Cross in 14 Months
Dogecoin has completed a golden cross on its daily chart, the first such signal in 14 months, with the MA 50 crossing above the MA 200. The last daily golden cross came in August 2025, and on September 13, 2025, Dogecoin traded to a high of $0.3 before selling pressure set in; the coin later fell to a low of $0.09 during the October 10 flash crash, when the crypto market suffered a historic $20 billion liquidation, and flashed a death cross in November 2025. The rebound began from a low of $0.06 in mid-August 2026, flipping the daily MA 50 and surpassing the daily MA 200 for the first time since October 2025. Fundamentals have been positive: DogeOS launched a public test network for Ethereum-style trading and lending using DOGE, and Metallicus launched DogecoinVM, a DOGE-compatible ledger on the Metal Blockchain that makes Dogecoin 300x faster with instant finality. Dogecoin was up 3.88% in the last 24 hours to $0.0962, with the next test for bulls at $0.106 after it decisively breaks the $0.095 and $0.098 levels, and a clear breakout past $0.106 might target $0.12 and $0.16 next.

Kalshi Launches Fully Regulated Dogecoin Perpetual Futures in US
Kalshi has officially begun trading fully regulated perpetual Dogecoin futures in the United States, giving retail investors access to legal perpetual contracts on the meme token within a CFTC-regulated jurisdiction. The launch marks another step in Dogecoin's expansion into the U.S. market, as the contracts operate under federal oversight rather than the offshore venues that have typically hosted perpetual futures. The move brings a product long associated with unregulated crypto exchanges into a CFTC-regulated framework. It also extends Kalshi's push into crypto derivatives following its earlier regulated offerings. The contracts are now live for U.S. retail participants.

DogeOS Launches Public Testnet, Bringing Smart Contracts to Dogecoin
DogeOS, an application-layer platform for Dogecoin, launched a public testnet on Wednesday in the form of a zero-knowledge rollup designed to bring EVM-compatible smart contracts to the Dogecoin network, with DOGE serving as the primary token for paying transaction fees. The project supports a wide range of applications, including trading, lending, stablecoins, prediction markets, and gaming, processing and confirming transaction state on the Dogecoin network. Currently, DogeOS uses a trusted execution environment, or TEE, together with validators and a permissioned transaction sequencer, while a future Dogecoin Core upgrade proposal would allow Dogecoin miners to verify execution proofs directly. Jordan Jefferson, chief executive officer of DogeOS, told The Block that Dogecoin does not yet verify ZK proofs on its own, but that bridge state transitions require valid proofs together with signatures from a majority of the validator set and TEE signers. He said the team is focused on the public testnet to give developers time to build and test applications while the network is validated, and will share a mainnet timeline once the next development milestone is reached. DogeOS, which comes from the team behind the MyDoge wallet, announced a 6.9 million dollar funding round led by Polychain Capital in May 2025. Two months later, the DogeOS team submitted a Dogecoin Core upgrade proposal that would add ZK-proof verification directly into Dogecoin, though that upgrade has not yet been deployed. Timothy Stebbing, a director of the Dogecoin Foundation, said in a statement on Wednesday that his hope is that DogeOS becomes a springboard for a new wave of real-world engineering and a gateway for the next 100 startups to build on Dogecoin. Dogecoin was trading at around 0.094 dollars at the time of publication, down 60 percent over the past year.

Bitwise to Liquidate Dogecoin ETF BWOW Less Than a Year After Launch
Bitwise is winding down its Dogecoin exchange-traded fund less than a year after launch, ending a product that held about $722,000 in assets this month. The crypto asset manager announced Thursday that it would liquidate BWOW, with October 14 expected to be its final trading day on NYSE Arca, and that remaining shareholders would receive the net asset value of their shares as of October 21, 2026, distributed in cash on October 22, 2026. Bitwise said the decision was part of efforts to optimize its product range to meet evolving investor needs. The fund began trading November 26, 2025, and currently holds about 8.2 million DOGE worth roughly $688,000, according to its website; Bitwise did not cite that as a reason for closing the fund. Bitwise began pursuing the fund in early 2025, registering a Dogecoin ETF entity in Delaware that January, and the product arrived during a wave of crypto fund launches that also included Dogecoin offerings from Grayscale.

T. Rowe Price defends Dogecoin allocation in its active crypto ETF
T. Rowe Price has defended including Dogecoin in its newly launched actively managed cryptocurrency ETF, the T. Rowe Price Active Crypto ETF (TKNZ), which allocates 1.26% of its portfolio to the meme coin. Blue Macellari, head of digital assets and lead portfolio manager for TKNZ, said the firm wanted to be truly active managers and that excluding meme coins on principle would prevent investors from participating in potential upside. The fund, which launched in July as the first actively managed, multi-token spot crypto ETF in the U.S., holds roughly 60% of its assets in Bitcoin and Ethereum, with Binance Coin also among its holdings. Macellari noted that Dogecoin was selected for its longevity and high market capitalization, and that meme coin trading provides valuable data on blockchain network performance under congestion. TKNZ carries a 0.75% net management fee, supported by a fee waiver through May 2027, and uses fundamental research and market momentum to actively select between 5 and 15 digital assets.

Dogecoin Unlikely to Reach $1 by End of 2026, Analyst Says
Dogecoin is unlikely to reach $1 before the end of 2026 due to a lack of organic demand and its unlimited token supply, according to an analysis by The Motley Fool. The meme cryptocurrency, which peaked at $0.73 in 2021 with a market capitalization over $90 billion, has since lost 90% of its value and recently hit a 52-week low of $0.07. Unlike Bitcoin, which has a capped supply of 21 million coins, Dogecoin's supply grows by up to 5 billion tokens annually with no limit, creating constant dilution that pressures its price. With only 2,298 businesses worldwide accepting it as payment and no niche use case, the token has failed to find a sustainable source of demand in its 13-year history. The analysis suggests that even modest gains are improbable, as dilution alone could push the price down to $0.068 over the next year, and a doubling of the circulating supply over 31 years could halve the price to $0.035.
Dogecoin spot flows rose 116% in the last 24 hours, according to Coinglass data, as the crypto market saw selling at July's close. Dogecoin fell to a low of $0.068, closing July 31 with a loss of 1.42%. The profit-taking was reflected in the positive spot net flow, which rose 116%.
Dogecoin Long-Short Ratio Hits Over 3-to-1, Raising Correction Risk
Dogecoin traders have grown heavily biased toward long positions, with major derivatives exchanges now showing more than three long accounts for every short. This extreme bullish imbalance has historically created unfavorable conditions for sustained price growth, especially as Dogecoin remains in a clear downtrend.
Dogecoin Is the Only Top-20 Crypto With Rising Trading Volume
Dogecoin emerged as the only cryptocurrency among the top 20 by market capitalization to record a notable increase in 24-hour trading volume. DOGE saw a 92.7% surge in trading volume over the course of the day, indicating renewed trader interest despite comparatively muted price action, while almost all of the other major cryptocurrencies saw decreasing activity.
Dogecoin's 24-hour spot trading volume has jumped more than 123%, even as the meme cryptocurrency trades near multi-month lows. The surge in volume indicates growing trader activity around current support levels, though price action remains subdued.

Dogecoin Co-Founder Billy Markus Calls Merge Mining Debate 'Pointless'
Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus has weighed in on the ongoing merge mining debate within the Dogecoin community, describing the discussion as 'pointless' in a non-partisan take. Dogecoin is showing one of its strongest sentiment signals in recent weeks as derivatives traders position for a recovery. Long positions significantly outnumber short positions across major exchanges, with the long-to-short ratio clearly favoring bulls. This bullish positioning comes despite the meme coin remaining stuck in a larger downtrend on the price chart.

Nearly 4 Billion DOGE Moved from Binance to Unknown Whale Wallet
Nearly 4 billion Dogecoin, specifically 3,999,999,999 DOGE, was moved from major cryptocurrency exchange Binance to an unknown whale wallet in one of the biggest transfers so far in 2026. The transaction incurred a fee of just 1.5331 DOGE.
Dogecoin Uptrend Attempt Is Fuelless, XRP Paints Severe RSI Divergence, Bitcoin Recovery Rally Is Premature: Crypto Market Review
Dogecoin's most recent attempt at recovery is beginning to show signs of weakness as the meme coin finds it difficult to build up enough momentum to maintain a significant increase. Although DOGE recovered some of its recent losses after rising from the local bottom close to the $0.07 zone, the larger technical picture indicates that the rally lacks the strength required for a trend reversal. Volume is the most obvious problem.
Dogecoin's median July return is a 4.6% loss, history shows
Dogecoin has posted a median loss of 4.6% in July over the past 12 years, with only five of those months closing positive. The meme coin is already down 55% over the last 12 months and sits roughly 90% below its May 2021 peak. Structural headwinds persist, including an uncapped supply that adds about 5.2 billion new DOGE annually, creating a supply inflation rate near 3.4%. Exchange-traded funds tracking Dogecoin launched in late 2025 but have failed to stem the decline, with the largest ETF holding just $13.7 million in net assets.
Meme coins lack a legitimate case as long-term investments
Meme coins, led by Dogecoin, currently account for 1.25% of the total crypto market value, but their long-term investment case is weak. Performance data can be deceiving because many launch near zero and then crash, leaving late buyers with steep losses. There is no easy way to diversify across top meme coins, as no ETF holds a broad basket of them. Dogecoin, for example, is down 89% from its all-time high of $0.74 despite a 19,000% gain since its 2013 launch. Meme coins are better suited for short-term speculation than long-term portfolios.
Dogecoin trading volume on major exchanges jumped more than 116% over the previous day, even as the asset traded near local lows. The surge in activity comes without a significant price increase, drawing renewed attention from traders. Investors are closely monitoring the heightened volume for potential market signals.
Dogecoin Holders Warned of Trapped Coins as Dogechain Shuts Down
Vocal Dogecoin community member Mishaboar has issued a crucial warning to Dogecoin holders as the Layer-2 infrastructure Dogechain prepares to shut down. Millions of Dogecoin are reportedly trapped on the platform, and users are urged to withdraw their funds immediately before the imminent closure. The shutdown of Dogechain, a secondary network built on top of Dogecoin, could leave holders unable to access their coins if they do not act in time. Mishaboar emphasized the urgency of the situation, noting that the exact timeline for the shutdown remains unclear but that the risk of permanent loss is real. The warning has sparked concern across the Dogecoin community, with many scrambling to move their assets off the platform.

SpaceX IPO at $2 Trillion Fuels Speculation on Dogecoin's Next Move
SpaceX recently went public at a valuation of nearly $2 trillion, reigniting interest in Elon Musk's long-standing association with Dogecoin. Musk has frequently promoted the meme-inspired cryptocurrency on social media, helping to drive its price through online narratives and celebrity endorsements rather than underlying fundamentals. While Musk has indicated he personally holds some Dogecoin, analysts caution that any correlation between SpaceX's stock performance and Dogecoin's price would likely stem from speculative momentum trading around the broader Musk ecosystem, not from intrinsic value. Dogecoin's price history shows surges tied to hype and subsequent declines as enthusiasm fades, making its potential rally alongside SpaceX's IPO a narrative-driven phenomenon.
Pepeto Presale Crosses $10.29 Million as Dogecoin Price Prediction Signals Limited Upside
Pepeto's presale has surpassed $10.29 million, drawing comparisons to the early cycles of Dogecoin and Shiba Inu, while the project also launched a swap security update that integrates AI risk checks directly into the trading layer. Dogecoin trades at $0.087, nearly 88% below its 2021 peak, with the most bullish price prediction from Benzinga targeting a range of $0.183 to $0.249 and a stretched ceiling of $0.30, implying a roughly 3x return that contrasts with the sub-microcent entry and $187 million fully diluted value of Pepeto's presale. The Dogecoin Foundation's rollout of the Such App self-custodial wallet beta and a Paxos institutional custody partnership failed to move the price, as 154 billion circulating tokens create supply pressure that overwhelms catalysts. Pepeto, led by the original Pepe coin creator and a former Binance executive, offers a cross-chain exchange across Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana with SolidProof-verified contracts, positioning it as the first meme coin to pair meme appeal with DeFi functionality. Large wallets are accumulating the presale, betting on a return profile reminiscent of Dogecoin's 2020 surge, with staking running live at 170%.
A $10,000 Dogecoin Investment 10 Years Ago Would Be Worth Over $2.6 Million Today
A $10,000 investment in Dogecoin a decade ago would have grown to more than $2.6 million as of June 18, reflecting a price surge of 25,910%. The meme-inspired cryptocurrency, created as a joke in 2013, now carries a market capitalization of $14.7 billion. However, Dogecoin currently trades 87% below its May 2021 record high, which was fueled by a speculative retail frenzy that proved unsustainable. Looking ahead, the article expresses a bearish outlook, citing a lack of fundamental catalysts and technical advantages to drive future adoption.
