Delta's AI power and cooling orders strengthen as trade tensions ease

  • US-China AI talks and extended trade truce lift sentiment Trump and Xi held their first talks on AI and extended the trade truce to January 2027. Less chip and trade tension is good for Delta, because its AI data-center power and cooling gear sells into a global build-out that depends on open trade.

New geopolitical de-escalation directly improves the outlook for Delta's AI-linked demand.

  • AI racks need far more power, raising Delta's content per rack Morgan Stanley raised its power estimate for NVIDIA's next racks, and Bualuang kept a 330 baht target, seeing Q3 sales up 34% year on year. More power and cooling per rack means Delta sells more valuable equipment in each AI data center.

This is the core demand driver behind Delta's earnings growth and stock price.

  • Delta launches 800 VDC AI data-center system for NVIDIA Vera Rubin Delta unveiled a modular AI data center with 800-volt in-row power and liquid cooling built for NVIDIA's Vera Rubin. Winning a place in the next-generation AI architecture supports future orders and shows Delta's technology is central to the build-out.

A concrete new product tied to NVIDIA's roadmap strengthens Delta's competitive position.

  • Brokers turn more bullish, naming Delta a top pick Krungsri upgraded electronics to Bullish and picked Delta with a 320 baht target, expecting 51% profit growth in FY27. Kasikorn also named Delta a stock to accumulate on market dips, citing strong AI demand and recovering margins.

Upgraded recommendations and higher targets can pull investor money back into the stock.

AI demand lifts Delta, but bond overhang and rotation cap gains

  • AI data-center demand and product ramp Analysts raised 2027 AI spending forecasts, and Delta is ramping its 800-volt power system for NVIDIA's Vera Rubin, positioning it to capture more of the AI infrastructure buildout.

This is the main growth driver behind Delta's business and stock appeal.

  • Easing shortages and peak Q3 profit Component shortages are easing, and Q3 profit is expected to peak, which supports earnings momentum and gives investors confidence in near-term results.

It explains the improved operational backdrop and profit outlook.

  • Broker upgrades and improved sentiment Krungsri upgraded the sector and named Delta a top pick, while Bualuang kept a 330 baht target. US-China AI talks and an extended trade truce also lifted sentiment.

These events boosted investor confidence and buying interest.

  • Exchangeable bond overhang and sector rotation A $1.5 billion exchangeable bond creates a share overhang, capping the stock, which fell 6% on the news. Investors also rotated into KCE and HANA, limiting Delta's rebound.

This is the main counterweight that held back the stock despite positive drivers.

Krungsri upgrades electronics stocks to Bullish, picks DELTA and KCE as Top picks

Krungsri Securities Public Company Limited has raised its recommendation on the electronics sector to Bullish from Neutral, citing three reasons: the low proportion of domestic revenue, the earnings of every company in the sector trending well in 3Q26F continuing from 2Q26, and momentum carrying into 4Q26-2027. It also expects the industry's total profit to accelerate in FY27F on rising demand in both AI-related and non-AI product groups. The research team recommends buying all three stocks, with DELTA at a target price of 320 baht and KCE at a target price of 97 baht as the Top picks, based on the theme of product price increases, which will drive the highest net profit per share growth in FY27F. The industry's total profit is expected to grow 52% in FY27F, accelerating from 42% in FY26F. DELTA will grow 51% in FY27F, up from 42% in FY26F, while KCE grows from 77% in FY26F to 82% in FY27F, and HANA grows from 24% in FY26F to 45% in FY27F. The team also raised its earnings estimates for KCE by 5% in FY26F and by 28% in FY27F to reflect the positive view that KCE is entering a sustained cycle of product price increases, incorporating one more price increase in October 2026 into the estimates, on top of the two previously expected in July 2026 and January 2027. Among non-AI stocks, KCE remains preferred over HANA because it operates further upstream and has its own laminate production facility, which helps it manage raw material costs better.

Kasikorn Securities says flood statistics to pressure SET by about 1%, sees support at 1,565-1,580 points as opportunity to accumulate bank, power plant and electronics stocks

The analyst at Kasikorn Securities Public Company Limited presented statistics on the impact of floods on the SET Index, noting that since 2006 flooding has occurred in Thailand more than 7 times, and the SET delivered negative returns of about 1% over a one-month period, except in 2011 when major flooding pushed the SET down 14%. The groups that outperformed were led by ICT and banks, while the finance and insurance groups fell about 2%. The electronics group fell the most, down 8%, most of which stemmed from 2011, because that flood round hit the industrial sector hard. On the economy, excluding 2011, the monthly impact was in the range of 10 to 50 billion baht, or an impact on GDP of no more than 0.1-0.3%. And if assessed from the upside of extending the half-half co-payment policy program by 2 months, it could put the GDP forecast in a range of 2.0% plus or minus. For investment strategy, Kasikorn Securities assesses the impact of this flood round on its 2026 EPS forecast as fairly limited, and estimates the SET support range at 1,565-1,580 points. It still views the decline as an opportunity to gradually accumulate bank, power plant and electronics stocks, namely KTB, BBL, DELTA and BGRIM.

KS expects Thai stocks to swing in 1580-1630 range this week, recommends accumulating DELTA and BCH

Kasikorn Securities assesses that the Thai stock market index will trade in a range of 1580-1630 points this week, with the market still volatile in line with swings in crude oil prices that accelerated last week, creating concerns over inflation in the period ahead. However, hopes remain for the US and Iran to return to further negotiations, which is a pressure keeping Brent crude oil prices unlikely to pass 110 dollars per barrel. On economic data this week, investors are advised to keep a close watch on the US Core PCE report, which is expected to hold steady at plus 3.3%, and if the actual figure comes in below market expectations, it will help the market further ease inflation concerns. For investment strategy this week, the recommendation is to wait for dips to accumulate shares with strong earnings prospects, such as the electronics, hospital, and construction contractor groups, as well as stocks tied to the Data Center theme. The standout stocks of the week are DELTA and BCH. For DELTA, the fundamental price is given at 300.00 baht, viewing the recent correction as merely a short-term reset, while AI demand remains strong from accelerating hyperscaler capex and rising demand for power and cooling systems per rack. Gross profit margin and earnings are expected to recover in the second half of 2026 after pressure from chip costs, inventory, and product mix clears up, with normal profit CAGR expected at around 32% in 2026-2028, and the buy recommendation is maintained with a target price of 300 baht. For BCH, the buy recommendation is maintained with a target price of 12.50 baht, based on improving profit forecast trends, with an expected earnings recovery in the second half of 2026 and upside from SSO service rate adjustments and M&A. The third-quarter 2026 outlook is stronger on a recovery in Thai patients, better SSO revenue, and growth in foreign patients, especially from the Middle East and CLMV. Valuation remains attractive, with the target price based on DCF at a WACC of 8.2%, offering a dividend yield of around 4-5% in 2026-2027, while no increase in SSO service rates is the main downside risk.

Bualuang keeps DELTA target at 330 baht after Morgan Stanley revises AI power assumptions

Bualuang Securities says DELTA's growth outlook from AI and data centers has strengthened after Morgan Stanley raised its power assumptions for the Vera Rubin rack to 234kW from 149kW, and for Rubin Ultra to 600kW from 415kW, reflecting power demand that comes not only from GPUs but also from memory, networking, power delivery systems and cooling across the entire rack. As a result, Morgan Stanley now estimates global server and rack power demand in 2026 to 2028 at 18GW, 35GW and 52GW, compared with Bualuang's assumptions of 15GW, 20GW and 25GW respectively. Even after deducting US electricity constraints, this still equates to global installations of about 28GW per year, above Bualuang's assumption of 20GW per year. For DELTA, the higher power usage per rack supports both the value of power delivery systems and cooling systems per rack, while Morgan Stanley has raised its liquid cooling capex assumption by 30% and sees cooling as an increasingly essential infrastructure. In addition, the 800VDC architecture improves system efficiency by about 5%, cuts copper usage by about 45% and supports racks drawing more than 1MW. In the short term, component constraints look set to ease gradually in the third quarter of 2026, with Delta Taiwan's power electronics sales in July up 59% year on year and 17% month on month, before falling 9% month on month in August but still 40% above the same period last year. DELTA's third-quarter 2026 sales are expected at 2.2 billion US dollars, up 34% year on year and 10% quarter on quarter, with a gross margin of 29.2% and core profit of about 9 billion baht, up 21% year on year and 60% quarter on quarter, before the fourth quarter of 2026 has a chance to set a new record high on deliveries of orders backlogged from the second and third quarters of 2026. Bualuang maintains its Buy recommendation with a target price of 330 baht and keeps its weighting on the electronics sector at market weight.

Kasikorn Securities sees SET swinging between 1,590 and 1,620 points, recommends accumulating DELTA and CK

Kasikorn Securities estimates the SET index will swing within a range of 1,590 to 1,620 points today amid geopolitical concerns that have pushed Brent crude up 3.6% and driven the 10-year US Treasury yield to 5.198%, an increase of 8.4 basis points. However, the latest progress shows that US and Iranian negotiators are discussing a step-by-step agreement that could see Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz in exchange for the US lifting its blockade of Iranian ports, with Qatar acting as mediator. Meanwhile, talks between Trump and Xi Jinping are trending positively, focusing mainly on AI, which is expected to benefit the chip and technology industries further. Domestically today, attention is on Thailand's August export figures, with the market expecting 347 billion dollars, or a rise of 24.8% year on year, seen as positive for the export sector. Today's strategy focuses on gradually accumulating fundamentally strong stocks with positive catalysts, with DELTA and CK recommended. For DELTA, the fundamental price is 300.00 baht, viewing the recent correction as merely a short-term reset, while AI demand remains strong from accelerating hyperscaler capex and rising demand for power and cooling systems per rack. Gross profit margin and earnings are expected to recover in the second half of 2026 after pressure from chip costs, inventory, and product mix eases, with normal profit expected to post a CAGR of about 32% in 2026 to 2028. The buy recommendation is maintained, with the stock trading at about 63 times 2027 PER, below the target of 92 times. For CK, the fundamental price is 29.27 baht after selling 200 million BEM shares at 6.50 baht per share, reducing its holding to 40.95% and bringing in about 1.3 billion baht in cash for working capital. It is expected to recognize an extraordinary gain of about 242 million baht after tax in the third quarter of 2026, though net profit in that quarter will still fall year on year from a high extraordinary profit base, while normal profit is expected to be flat to slightly higher on construction work and lower interest expenses. The buy recommendation is maintained, with a positive view on liquidity and the opportunity to win government projects in 2027, where bidding is expected to open for no less than 200 billion baht. The stock trades at a 2026 PER of only 13.3 times, even though its share of profit from BEM will decline slightly.
2308.TW · Capital · Positive Kasikorn Securities maintains a buy recommendation with a 300.00 baht fundamental price, viewing the recent correction as a short-term reset and expecting margin/earnings recovery.
2308.TW · Demand · Positive AI demand remains strong from accelerating hyperscaler capex and rising demand for power and cooling systems per rack, supporting DELTA's fundamentals.
CK.BK · Capital · Positive CK sold 200 million BEM shares at 6.50 baht, raising about 1.3 billion baht in cash for working capital, and is recommended as an accumulation pick.
US-10Y.GB · Monetary · Negative The 10-year US Treasury yield rose 8.4 basis points to 5.198% amid geopolitical concerns, which is negative for bond prices.

Bualuang cuts DELTA target to 330 baht as exchangeable bond deal pressures short-term price

Bualuang Securities stated in an analysis dated September 15, 2026, that the issuance of exchangeable bonds referencing shares of Delta Electronics (Thailand) or DELTA by a company in the Delta Electronics group is likely to create share supply pressure, or overhang, on the stock price in the short term, rather than affecting fundamental earnings, since no new shares are being issued and therefore there is no dilution effect. Delta Electronics Taiwan is preparing to issue exchangeable bonds with a total value of 1.5 billion US dollars through Delta Electronics International Singapore, a wholly owned subsidiary that holds a 42.85% stake in DELTA. The bonds are zero-coupon exchangeable bonds, divided into two tranches: a 500 million US dollar tranche maturing in September 2027 and a 1 billion US dollar tranche maturing in September 2031. Bloomberg indicated yields of 2-4% for the 2027 tranche and 0.5-1.5% for the 2031 tranche, while TradingView, citing Reuters data, indicated negative yields in the ranges of 2-4% and 0.5-1.5% respectively, so final yield terms still await confirmation. Regarding put options, the 2027 tranche has no put option, while the 2031 tranche provides put rights in March 2028 and September 2029. Bualuang estimates that using a DELTA share price of 252 baht as the reference price and assuming a 10% discount to the share sale price, the sale price would be approximately 227 baht per share. Including the exchange premium, the exchange price of the 2027 tranche is expected to be approximately 261-272 baht per share and the 2031 tranche approximately 295-318 baht per share. The number of shares potentially available for exchange is estimated at approximately 160-170 million shares, or 1.3-1.4% of total shares, before including the greenshoe over-allotment option, while the previous transaction involved approximately 0.4% of shares. Bualuang views the overhang from this transaction as clearer than the deal in January 2025 because it is larger, the 2027 tranche has a short maturity, and the premium to the market price is lower, resulting in the share price being likely to fluctuate and be capped in the short term. However, the fact that Delta Electronics International Singapore, which holds a 42.85% stake in DELTA, is the issuer of these bonds, differs from the previous transaction conducted through DIH Netherlands, which held a 13.77% stake, and this may make the market more cautious about the possibility that the Delta group will use its holdings to create value through similar transactions in the future. Although the transaction creates short-term pressure, Bualuang maintains a positive view on DELTA's AI and data center business outlook and keeps its buy recommendation, but lowers the target price to 330 baht to reflect the overhang and reduces the valuation premium to a standard level.
DELTA.BK · Capital · Negative Exchangeable bond issuance by its parent group creates share-supply overhang and Bualuang cut its target to 330 baht.
2308.TW · Capital · Neutral Delta Electronics Taiwan is issuing $1.5bn exchangeable bonds on its DELTA stake, a financing event with mixed read-through.

Asia Plus warns SET risks breaking below 1,573 points, pressured by Delta's 1.5 billion dollar convertible bond issuance

Asia Plus Securities research department stated that foreign fund flows continue to exit the Thai stock market, with foreign investors holding accumulated short positions of 48,269 contracts over the past 5 days and net selling for 3 consecutive trading days totaling over 5.2 billion baht. Technically, the SET index is forming a head and shoulders pattern, a negative signal, with the decisive neckline at 1,573 points. A break below would confirm a downtrend and risk a deeper correction testing support at 1,560 points, with a technical target of 1,520 points. However, to confirm a reversal, it must first break through resistance at 1,610 points. Additionally, the market faces overhang from Delta Taiwan's announcement of a convertible bond issuance worth up to 1.5 billion dollars, 2.86 times larger than the previous round and with a lower premium. Such deals have previously dragged Delta Thai down 6% intraday and 14.4% in T+3, and every 1 baht decline in Delta pulls the SET index down by about 1 point. The research department also recommends 3 standout stocks: BBL from the prolonged high interest rate environment and a PBV of only 0.6 times, ERW from the benefits of a weakening baht and the Thai Tiew Thai Plus project, and SCC from speculation on progress in the olefins business merger with PTTGC within this month.
2308.TW · Capital · Negative Delta Taiwan's up-to-$1.5bn convertible bond issuance, 2.86x larger than the previous round with a lower premium, is an overhang that previously dragged Delta Thai down 6% intraday and 14.4% in T+3.
BBL.BK · Monetary · Positive Recommended as a standout stock benefiting from the prolonged high interest rate environment and cheap PBV of 0.6x.
ERW.BK · Monetary · Positive Recommended as a standout stock benefiting from the weakening baht and the Thai Tiew Thai Plus project.
SCC.BK · Capital · Positive Recommended as a standout stock on speculation over progress in the olefins business merger with PTTGC within this month.

Asia Plus keeps Buy on DELTA with 342 baht target, expects Q3/2026 profit to be the year's peak

Asia Plus Securities issued an analysis of Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or DELTA, maintaining a Buy recommendation with a target price of 342 baht, and projecting normalised profit for 2026-2027 at 35-49 billion baht, equivalent to average annual growth of 42%. The research team said profit has already passed its low point for the year in Q2/2026, and that second-half 2026 profit will be better than the first half, while normalised profit in 2026-2027 is expected to grow the most in the sector even though the share price remains a laggard. On the sales side, DELTA's parent company in Taiwan reported August 2026 sales of 64 billion Taiwan dollars, down 4% month-on-month but still up 35% year-on-year and above the Q2/2026 average of 61 billion Taiwan dollars. That put sales for the first two months of the quarter, July and August 2026, at 130 billion Taiwan dollars, up 41% year-on-year. Although parent company sales declined, DELTA's own sales in the same period do not necessarily have to fall in step, because parent sales cover the entire group including subsidiaries worldwide. Still, DELTA Thailand's sales tend to move in the same direction as the parent's, with a correlation of about 96%, so DELTA's July-August 2026 sales are expected to grow better than in Q2/2026, just as the parent's did. In addition, the raw material shortage seen in Q2/2026 began to ease from July 2026, which is expected to keep production and deliveries recovering. Overall, the research team expects DELTA's Q3/2026 sales to grow both quarter-on-quarter and year-on-year, and anticipates better quarter-on-quarter margins, with royalty payments as a share of sales falling quarter-on-quarter because products made with DELTA's own technology will account for a larger share in the second half of 2026. That should help push Q3/2026 profit to the year's high, helped by a low base in Q3/2025.

KCE shares surge 10.68% on news of pilot PCB production for Tesla's Optimus robot

KCE shares closed the morning session at 64.75 baht, up 6.25 baht, or 10.68%, buoyed by a return of buying interest on roughly three supporting factors. The main driver came from market chatter that KCE is in the pilot stage of producing printed circuit boards for Tesla for use in its Optimus humanoid robot development project. Although this remains only a testing phase with no official confirmation of a commercial order, the market views it as a strongly positive sentiment, because success would elevate KCE from an automotive PCB maker of electronic components into the robotics and AI industry in earnest, where margins and growth prospects are high. In addition, the electronic components and semiconductor theme has returned to favour. On September 10, Krungthai XSpring Securities noted that KCE and HANA rose against the trend of DELTA, as the market saw stronger earnings prospects, while buying also rotated out of DELTA into KCE and HANA after DELTA came under pressure in line with its parent stock in Taiwan. Investors, meanwhile, view the profit outlook for KCE and HANA as stronger.

Bualuang keeps Buy on DELTA with 440 baht target, sees long-term AI demand staying strong

Bualuang Securities said OpenAI's launch of GPT-6 Astra helps confirm the assumption of power demand for AI, and it is maintaining its estimates for new rack-level power installations at roughly 15GW in 2026, 20GW in 2027 and 25GW in 2028. This follows NVIDIA's indication that it will add around 400,000 more GPUs, which, compared with a GB200 NVL72 system, equals about 5,600 racks, or a power load of roughly 0.7GW, representing only 3-4% of the 20GW assumption for 2027, so there is still no need to revise estimates upward. The key point from Astra is the increase in the number of tasks AI can actually be applied to. Although Astra's API price is about 2.5 times higher than GPT-5.6 Sol, the cost per completed task fell in some tests, with DeepSWE about 57% lower and Terminal-Bench Science about 27% lower. As for Delta Taiwan's August sales, they came in at NT$64.6 billion, up 35% year on year but down 4% month on month, while the Power Electronics business, which is most relevant to Thailand's DELTA, fell 9% month on month to NT$34.9 billion even though it was still up 40% year on year, reflecting that the supply shortage pressuring the second quarter of 2026 may not yet be fully resolved. The research team is maintaining its core profit estimates for DELTA at 38.5 billion baht in 2026, up 56.6% year on year, 56.9 billion baht in 2027, up 47.7%, and 68.9 billion baht in 2028, up 21.0%, while keeping its Buy recommendation and a 2027 target price of 440 baht.

Bualuang Keeps Buy on DELTA with 440 Baht Target, Citing GPT-6 Astra as AI Demand Driver

Bualuang Securities maintains its Buy rating on Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or DELTA, with a 2027 target price of 440 baht, viewing OpenAI's launch of GPT-6 Astra as confirmation of the research house's assumptions about power demand for AI. The research team keeps its forecast for new rack-level power installations at roughly 15GW in 2026, 20GW in 2027 and 25GW in 2028, after NVIDIA said it would add about 400,000 more GPUs, which against a GB200 NVL72 system equates to roughly 5,600 racks, or about 0.7GW of load, just 3 to 4 percent of the 20GW assumption for 2027, so no upward revision to estimates is needed yet. The key takeaway from Astra is the greater number of tasks AI can actually perform; although Astra's API price is about 2.5 times higher than GPT-5.6 Sol, the cost per completed task fell in some tests, with DeepSWE down about 57 percent and Terminal-Bench Science down about 27 percent. Delta Taiwan's August sales came in at NT$64.6 billion, up 35 percent year on year but down 4 percent month on month, while the Power Electronics business, which is most relevant to DELTA Thailand, fell 9 percent month on month to NT$34.9 billion even as it grew 40 percent year on year, suggesting the supply shortage that pressured the second quarter of 2026 may not have fully eased. The research team keeps its core profit forecasts for DELTA at 38.5 billion baht in 2026, up 56.6 percent year on year, 56.9 billion baht in 2027, up 47.7 percent, and 68.9 billion baht in 2028, up 21.0 percent, tracking growth in AI and data centers.

DELTA AI Still Strong, Raw Material Risk, Target 293 Baht

Yuanta Securities assesses that DELTA Thailand's revenue will recover in the third quarter of 2026, growing 12% quarter-on-quarter, driven by the shift of orders from the second quarter to production in the third quarter. Revenue is expected to continue growing by another 10% in the fourth quarter, with the expansion of AI Data Center product capacity as the main driver. However, the main risk remains raw material constraints, which, although improving, are still tight for some items, potentially causing growth to fall short of potential. Meanwhile, DELTA Taiwan analysts expect revenue growth of 21% and 17% in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, significantly higher than our assumptions. Regarding gross margin, the target remains at least 30% for 2026, compared to 29.2% in the first half, with GPM expected to recover to 30.5% in the third quarter and 32.5% in the fourth quarter. SG&A remains a pressure factor due to increased R&D expenses and licensing fees. We have cut our normal profit estimates for 2026-2027 by 10% and 8%, respectively, expecting 2026 profit of 36 billion baht (+57% YoY) and 2027 profit of 51 billion baht (+40% YoY). We have adjusted the end-2027 fair price to 293.00 baht per share, using a PER of 72.2 times, and maintain a TRADING recommendation.

Bualuang Securities sees DELTA Q2 profit possibly beating expectations on supply recovery, sets target at 440 baht

Bualuang Securities Public Company Limited stated that the net profit of Delta Electronics Thailand Public Company Limited, or DELTA, for the second quarter of 2026 may come in better than market expectations, with an estimate of approximately 9.0 to 9.5 billion baht, higher than the market consensus of 8.7 billion baht. This is due to Delta Taiwan's revenue in June recovering to 65.6 billion New Taiwan dollars, up from 58.7 billion in April and 59.0 billion in May, reflecting that supply constraints caused by shortages of raw materials such as high-voltage MOSFETs are beginning to ease. Delta Taiwan's total revenue for the second quarter of 2026 was 183.3 billion New Taiwan dollars, an increase of 48 percent year-on-year and 15 percent quarter-on-quarter. The Power segment grew 50 percent year-on-year and 13 percent quarter-on-quarter, while the Infrastructure segment grew 77 percent year-on-year and 22 percent quarter-on-quarter. Bualuang Securities expects DELTA Thailand's revenue in the second quarter of 2026 to grow approximately 10 percent quarter-on-quarter, higher than the market estimate which has been revised down to 5 percent quarter-on-quarter. Although the gross margin may decline to around 30 percent from 32 percent in the first quarter of 2026 due to higher raw material costs, strong revenue will help support net profit to remain stable quarter-on-quarter and exceed market expectations by about 5 to 10 percent. Additionally, Bualuang Securities views that the analyst meeting after the earnings announcement on July 27, 2026 is likely to reflect a more positive outlook, with management possibly signaling that raw material shortages began to ease from June and were only temporary supply constraints, not a demand issue, while maintaining full-year guidance. Bualuang Securities therefore gives a 2027 reference price of 440 baht.
