CCET beats Q2 forecasts, brokers raise targets, AI storage demand builds

  • Q2 core profit beats expectations, brokers lift targets Core profit of 752 million baht beat forecasts by 23-27%, helped by 17% quarterly revenue growth and better margins. Yuanta and CGSI both kept buy ratings with targets near 10 baht, citing stronger second-half profit from server and AI storage orders.

This is the period's main new event and the clearest reason the stock is being re-rated upward.

  • Negative operating cash flow despite record profit growth Bualuang flagged that CCET's inventory jumped 40% and operating cash flow was negative 2.9 billion baht, even as profit grew fastest in its peer group. That means cash is tied up in stock, a real risk if demand or component prices turn.

It is the honest counterweight to the profit beat and a new, specific warning about cash strain.

  • US semiconductor tariff threat hangs over Thai electronics Asia Plus warned that possible extra US tariffs on semiconductors could hurt sentiment for Thai electronics names including CCET, even if direct earnings damage is limited. Thailand sits in the supply chain, so slowing global goods demand is the indirect risk.

It is the main external risk that could cap the stock's gains and is new this period.

  • AI data boom lifts storage demand and foreign investment Kiatnakin Phatra and Kasikorn data show AI infrastructure spending spreading into storage, with foreign investment applications up 80% to 1.36 trillion baht. CCET is named a beneficiary as AI computing generates huge volumes of data needing HDD and SSD storage.

It explains the multi-year demand driver behind CCET's order growth, beyond one quarter's numbers.

Cal-Comp's data-storage boom lifts profit, but tariffs and costs loom

  • Data-storage demand and new plant drive sales surge July sales jumped 50% on strong data-storage demand and a new plant running at full capacity. This shows the company is winning more business as AI data centres need more storage.

This is the main positive force behind the stock's momentum in the period.

  • Q2 profit beats forecasts, analysts keep buy ratings Q2 core profit beat forecasts by 23–27%, leading Yuanta and CGSI to maintain buy ratings with targets near 10 baht. This boosts investor confidence and supports the share price.

Analyst upgrades and profit beats are key drivers of positive sentiment.

  • US tariffs and rising component costs threaten margins A 12.5% US tariff on Thai electronics threatens second-half exports, while rising DRAM, NAND and copper costs squeeze margins. Further US semiconductor tariffs could hurt sentiment.

These are the main risks that could reverse the positive momentum.

  • Inventory jump and negative cash flow raise red flags Despite record profit growth, inventory rose 40% and operating cash flow turned negative at 2.9 billion baht. This is a real risk if demand or component prices reverse.

This highlights a potential financial weakness that could undermine future performance.

Trump views AI as the Next Industrial Revolution and estimates it could eventually reach as much as 25% of the U.S. economy. As of 10:07 a.m., HANA gained 4.19%, up 2.00 baht to 49.75 baht, with trading value of 391.47 million baht. DELTA gained 2.07%, up 5.00 baht to 246.00 baht, with trading value of 1.1237 billion baht. CCET gained 1.69%, up 0.15 baht to 9.00 baht, with trading value of 66.44 million baht. KCE gained 1.15%, up 0.75 baht to 65.75 baht, with trading value of 140.37 million baht. And SMT gained 0.88%, up 0.05 baht to 5.75 baht, with trading value of 10.60 million baht. Krungsri Securities said it holds a positive view on the AI Investment Cycle because it reflects a U.S. policy direction still focused on accelerating AI innovation and infrastructure investment rather than increasing regulatory burden, consistent with earlier policies that accelerated AI adoption, cybersecurity, and high-security computing infrastructure. The positive sentiment extends to the global AI supply chain and connects to Thai stocks in the DELTA, HANA, KCE, and CCET theme, as well as GULF/GPSC and the data center infrastructure group. For DELTA, the recommendation is Buy with a 2027 target price of 320 baht, after it passed the hedging period for bondholder status, combined with an AI CAPEX picture driving demand for AI-related products, supporting a rapid recovery in normal third-quarter 2026 profit, up 33% year on year and up 54% quarter on quarter, and set to reach a quarterly peak in the fourth quarter of 2026 forecast. Profit for 2027-2028 is expected to accelerate by 51.4% and 37.7%, with upside potential, while the stock has corrected about 35% from its recent peak. For HANA, the recommendation is Buy with a 2027 target price of 64.6 baht, after a positive surprise of no cash-strapped status last week, combined with support from an accelerating AI CAPEX cycle and China's economic stimulus focused on supporting smart devices, offering upside potential. Profit is expected to grow 23.7% in 2026 and 44% in 2027, while the stock trades at a 2027 forecast PER of 29.5 times and a low PEG of about 0.67 times.

Thai stocks ride AI wave as foreign capital jumps 80% in first half of 2026

The global AI investment wave is driving foreign capital into Thailand's infrastructure sectors, including data centers, power systems, cooling systems, PCB and storage. Data from Kasikorn Thai shows that in the first half of 2026, Thailand received investment promotion applications totaling 1.47 trillion baht, up 37% from a year earlier, while foreign capital rose 80% to 1.36 trillion baht, led by the digital and electronics industries. Among the stocks seen as direct beneficiaries is DELTA, which makes power supply and cooling systems for data centers and is ramping up commercial production of liquid cooling systems. HANA is viewed as the Thai stock market's new AI proxy, with AI-related products set to enter production lines in the second half of 2026. KCE is expected to benefit from the semiconductor upcycle and tight PCB supply, which could support selling prices and profits in the second half of 2026. SMT gains from the shift to optical connectivity, while CCET benefits from rising demand for both HDD and SSD storage as AI computing generates massive volumes of data. INSET has seen a flood of project inquiries, while WHA and AMATA stand to gain because data center businesses use roughly 12 to 16 times more electricity and water than general industrial plants, meaning industrial estate revenue does not end on the day land is sold but continues through long-term utility income. If foreign capital flows and data center investment accelerate further in 2027, the Thai stock market may see an increasingly clear picture of an AI ecosystem.

KKP Says AI Enters a New Cycle, Opening the Way for Thailand to Capture a New Wave of FDI, Highlights 10 Standout Stocks

Kiatnakin Phatra Securities Public Company Limited, or KKP, assesses that global AI investment is moving beyond chips into the surrounding infrastructure, which will create positive ripple effects for the Thai economy, especially the opportunity to attract a new wave of foreign direct investment, or FDI, into the country's industrial sector and advanced technology supply chain. The analysis notes that as AI systems grow larger, power per rack in data centers rises from several tens of kilowatts to about 600 kilowatts and could reach 1 megawatt in the future, shifting the main constraints to power delivery systems, cooling systems, and data transmission. KKP sees two key technologies that will drive the next phase: 800VDC technology and the shift to optical connectivity. KKP expects the new wave of FDI to flow into semiconductors, printed circuit boards, or PCBs, and advanced electronics, estimating that Thailand's major industrial estate developers, WHA and AMATA, will see land sales increase by about 2,500 rai per year and 2,000 rai per year, respectively. For the standout stocks that stand to benefit, KKP states that Delta Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or DELTA, is ready to serve demand for data center power systems and liquid cooling systems, while Hana Microelectronics Public Company Limited, or HANA, benefits from demand for analog ICs and power semiconductors. KCE Electronics Public Company Limited, or KCE, is ready to serve demand for high-end PCBs, and Stars Microelectronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or SMT, benefits directly from the shift to optical connectivity technology. Cal-Comp Electronics (Thailand) Public Company Limited, or CCET, has the potential to serve demand for both HDD and SSD storage devices. Beyond the electronics group, KKP states that AI's expansion also benefits energy infrastructure, as a global shortage of large power transformers bodes well for Thirai Public Company Limited, or TRT, while demand for transformer oil and fluids for liquid cooling systems opens opportunities for P.S.P. Specialties Public Company Limited, or PSP, as well as the strategic partnership of Millennium Group Corporation (Asia) Public Company Limited, or MGC, in developing humanoid robots. Supapong Iamkong-aek, an analyst at Kiatnakin Phatra Securities Public Company Limited, said global AI investment will not stop at software or chips but is spreading to areas where Thailand has good cost advantages, namely infrastructure and downstream industries, which is a window of opportunity that remains wide open for the Thai economy.

Bualuang Securities sees electronics group 2Q26 core profit down QoQ but 2H26 recovery trend

Bualuang Securities said combined core profit of four electronics stocks in the second quarter of 2026 was 6.8 billion baht, up 16% from a year earlier but down 32% from the previous quarter, with the decline driven mainly by Delta Electronics Thailand. Excluding Delta, combined core profit of the other three companies was 1.19 billion baht, up 58% from both a year earlier and the previous quarter. Cal-Comp Electronics Thailand posted the strongest core profit growth from a year earlier at 182%, while Hana Microelectronics showed the strongest recovery from the previous quarter at 169%. On gross margin, KCE Electronics was the only stock that expanded from both a year earlier and the previous quarter. Delta's gross margin rose 180 basis points from a year earlier but fell sharply by 490 basis points from the previous quarter. A key issue to monitor is working capital after all four companies accelerated inventory accumulation, up 12% from the previous quarter for KCE, 24% for Hana, 25% for Delta and 40% for Cal-Comp, due to tight component supply and higher memory and copper raw material prices. However, cash flow at Delta, KCE and Hana recovered, with Delta posting operating cash flow of 10.8 billion baht, KCE 507 million baht and Hana 439 million baht, while Cal-Comp posted negative operating cash flow of 2.9 billion baht despite the strongest profit growth in the group. For the third quarter of 2026, the trend is improving. Delta views the second-quarter issue as merely a delivery postponement, not disappearing demand, after supply constraints began to ease. It expects third-quarter revenue to grow 10-15% from the previous quarter and maintains a 30% gross margin target, with second-half core profit expected at around 22-23 billion baht, up 55% from a year earlier and 45% from the first half. KCE gave a more positive outlook, expecting third-quarter volume to rise 8-9%. Price increases effective from July 1 are seen lifting printed circuit board revenue by a combined 17-19%, with gross margin expected at around 25%. As a result, quarterly core profit in the second half is likely to approach 500 million baht, and there is a chance of raising the 2027 revenue assumption from the previous plus 15% to around plus 20%, which could push 2027 core profit above 2.0 billion baht. Bualuang Securities maintains a neutral view on the electronics group, with the second-half trend improving on Delta's recovery and accelerating momentum at KCE. Delta keeps a buy rating with a target price of 440 baht. Hana is rated hold with a target price of 46 baht. KCE keeps a trading buy rating, but its target price is under review.
DELTA.BK · Supply · Negative Q2 core profit down 32% QoQ due to supply constraints and inventory buildup, though demand postponed not lost.
9105.TW · Capital · Negative Negative operating cash flow despite profit growth, indicating working capital strain.
HANA.BK · Demand · Positive Strongest QoQ recovery at 169% and improved cash flow, indicating demand recovery.
KCE.BK · Pricing · Positive Only stock with gross margin expansion from both YoY and QoQ, benefiting from pricing power.

CGSI maintained a buy recommendation on Cal-Comp Electronics Thailand, or CCET, and raised its target price to 10.20 baht, citing an expected stronger profit trend in the second half of 2026, driven by higher order volumes for server and storage products and a shift toward higher-value AI servers. Normalized profit for the second quarter of 2026 was 752 million baht, up 4 percent year on year and 41 percent quarter on quarter, beating Bloomberg consensus by 23 percent. Sales revenue rose to 34.8 billion baht, up 10 percent year on year and 17 percent quarter on quarter, while gross margin increased to 5.3 percent, up 30 basis points quarter on quarter but down 30 basis points year on year. CGSI raised its normalized earnings per share estimates by 2 to 4 percent for fiscal years 2026 to 2028 and maintained its buy rating, saying the company's operating capability is becoming clearer through strong revenue growth, steadily improving gross margin, and better operating leverage.

Yuanta Securities estimates normalised profit at 627 million baht, up 17 percent from the previous quarter but down 13 percent from a year earlier. Total revenue is projected at 31 billion baht, up 4 percent quarter-on-quarter, with gross margin seen at 5.20 percent, a 15-basis-point improvement from the prior quarter, driven by a higher mix of new products and better production efficiency. AIRA Securities recommends avoiding Thai electronics stocks in the short term due to three pressure factors

AIRA Securities recommends that investors avoid short-term speculation in Thai electronics stocks after share prices in the sector fell around 6 to 8 percent simultaneously on July 30, citing three pressure factors. First, raw material costs for semiconductor DRAM, NAND, and copper have risen, negatively impacting production efficiency and gross margins for companies like Delta Electronics, CCET, and KCE. Second, there are growing concerns over increased competition from China after it began commercial production of immersion DUV lithography machines, with expected deliveries of around 5 units in 2026 and around 20 units in 2027 to SMIC, Hua Hong, and CXMT. Meanwhile, CXMT has plans to more than double its production capacity to over 600,000 wafers per month, which could affect Thai electronics manufacturers such as KCE, HANA, Delta Electronics, and CCET through price competition and order losses. Third, Thai electronics stocks were indirectly hit by the sharp sell-off in overseas semiconductor and AI stocks between July 28 and 29, driven by concerns over high valuations, funding risks for AI infrastructure projects, and competition from China. The KOSPI index fell 7.60 percent and the TAIEX fell 4.65 percent on July 28, with selling pressure continuing on July 29 after SK Hynix earnings missed expectations, compounded by forced selling and leveraged position unwinding in the Korean stock market. Meanwhile, Meta shares fell due to a roughly 90 percent drop in free cash flow alongside increased capital expenditure of 130 to 145 billion US dollars. These factors are expected to weigh most heavily on Delta Electronics, as its revenue and growth expectations are directly tied to power supply and cooling systems for AI data centers, followed by CCET and HANA on concerns over the sustainability of orders in the AI server and semiconductor supply chain. However, in the long term, these companies still have momentum from the semiconductor industry recovery and continued rising investment in AI and data centers. AIRA Securities maintains a buy-on-weakness recommendation for HANA, driven by new product launches in the second half of 2026 and in 2027.

SET Index falls below 1,600 points on heavy selling of DELTA and large-cap stocks

The Thai stock market fell sharply, with the SET Index dropping below the 1,600-point level today, 30 July 2029. The main drag came from DELTA, whose heavy price decline alone knocked more than 10 points off the index, along with selling pressure across large-cap stocks. Analysts at Bualuang Securities noted that a global sell-off in chip and AI hardware stocks, especially in South Korea where the KOSPI index plunged more than 12% intraday and triggered a circuit breaker for the second straight day, warrants caution on Thai electronics names such as DELTA, CCET, HANA, and KCE. The research team therefore decided to cut losses on DELTA in its SET100 Smart Tactical portfolio for now. Meanwhile, global oil prices surged more than 7% on Middle East tensions, a positive for upstream energy stocks like PTTEP and PTT, but a headwind for cost-sensitive sectors such as tourism, transport, and retail. The near-term investment strategy favours large-cap stocks based on foreign fund flows and speculative sector rotation plays.

Asia Plus says new US tariff measures to pressure Thai exports in second half

Asia Plus Securities' research unit says new US tariff measures under Section 301, one of the risks to Thai exports in the second half of the year, will slow exports because Thailand faces a 12.5% levy, higher than some ASEAN peers like the Philippines and Malaysia, potentially reducing competitiveness. Thailand also runs a growing surplus with the US, and markets must watch for surplus-production tariffs the US has yet to announce, which will pressure the Thai economy's export sector. Product groups hit by the 12.5% tariff include pet food, processed food, and beverages, covering stocks such as AAI, ITC, PLUS, TU, and COCOCO, as well as electronics, including HANA, DELTA, KCE, and CCET. Major Thai goods exempted from the 12.5% tariff are oil, gas, and fertiliser, which the US imports heavily, easing pressure on refinery and oil stocks like PTT, PTTEP, TOP, IRPC, and BCP, and goods already under Section 232, such as automobiles, steel, aluminium, and copper, which eases pressure on processed steel and steel pipe stocks like PAP, TMT, and SAM, and auto parts stocks like AH and SAT. The Commerce Ministry reported that Thai exports in June 2026 grew 20.8% year-on-year, above the market forecast of 15.2%, while imports rose 50.3%, above the 35.8% forecast, resulting in a trade deficit of 6.565 billion US dollars. Standout products included pet food, up 22.3%, expanding for a tenth straight month; rubber, up 12.5%, returning to growth for the first time in 14 months; and processed chicken, up 6.1%, expanding for a seventh consecutive month.

Phillip Securities says impact of US tariffs on Thai stocks limited, recommends monitoring animal feed and electronic components sectors

Phillip Securities assesses that the impact of the new US tariff wall on Thai stocks will be limited. Exempted goods include electronic components, communication equipment and devices, computer storage units, and other electronic devices, meaning stocks in the electronic components sector such as KCE, HANA, DELTA, and CCET will see minimal impact. Meanwhile, animal feed stocks like ITC and AAI may experience some effects. In a worst-case scenario, ITC's profit could decline by 240 million baht, or 7.1% from current levels, but the new base price of 18.02 baht still offers 5.88% upside from the current price. Thailand's trade figures for June 2026 continued to expand, with exports growing 8% year-on-year and imports rising 3% year-on-year.

Asia Plus Securities expects SET to move sideways in the afternoon, eyeing US tariffs and measures to help low-income earners

Asia Plus Securities expects the SET Index to move sideways in the afternoon within a range of 1,644 to 1,657 points, warning that if it cannot break through the resistance at 1,657 points, it will remain in the late stage of wave b, which carries a risk of a downward correction. It also provides a strategy for the S50U26 contract: wait to add short positions at 1,100 to 1,120 points and cut losses if it breaks above 1,126 points. On the international front, the US has threatened to impose a 50 percent tariff on certain Canadian imports, bringing trade tariff concerns back to pressure the market. Regarding Thailand's trade negotiations, if the tariff is concluded at 15 to 20 percent or lower, it will be positive for stocks such as WHA, AMATA, DELTA, HANA, KCE, CCET, and export-oriented groups. However, if it exceeds 25 percent, it will pressure export stocks and foreign capital flows. Nevertheless, the market has likely already priced in the base case of 15 to 20 percent to a considerable extent, limiting the SET Index's downside. Meanwhile, a key agenda item at today's cabinet meeting is the preparation to extend the appeal or review period for the 2026 state welfare card eligibility until September 20, from the original end of July, and to provide assistance to those who do not pass the criteria through the Thai Helps Thai Plus project at 1,000 baht per month during August to September 2026. This is slightly positive for grassroots retail stocks such as CPALL, CPAXT, BJC, and CRC.
